OK, I will be doing some informal shows this summer, mostly cruise-ins and the like. my car is Jet black and I have some light swirl marks (nothing like the 115K-mile marks onmy old integra, but swirls nonetheless).
I am simply looking for a product that I can "spray on" and wipe to fill/mask the swirls for a short time... when I detailed cars in HS, the shop I was at used something called "purple haze" that was a dry-wash and quick-polish in one... I'm not sure how good for the finish it was, but it worked...
I don't want to damage the finish, but I really would like some way to cover the marks...
any suggestions?:help

I don't know if you want to do this but Pro makes a product called Swirl Eliminator. I owned a detail shop for 4.5 years and this stuff is great, for best results you need to put it on with a high speed buffer that has a foam pad on it. You can purchase it in a store, but if you are interested I can probably get my buddy to bottle some up and send it to you. He owns a detail shop now, I was his "mentor" and I am sure he would not charge you much.
Let me know.

I have used 3M Imperial Hand Glaze and it does the trick for my Cosmos Black paint. It is very easy to apply. After washing and drying the car I squirt it on a rag and apply in a front to back motion. After a minute or two I just buff it out with a clean cotton cloth. That always takes my swirls go away.

Yup, it works very well. I have found the how-to articles of this site to be helpful:

Meguiars Scratch-X
It costs about $8-$9 bucks, and it is known to be the best scratch remover on the market. If Scratch-X cannot remove it, the only thing that will is a professional.

3M Imperial Hand Glaze is a good fix for a couple days or so. IHG is a glaze, it is not an brasive, it will simpily evporate after several days.
To eliminate swirls you need to use an abrsive polish to flatten the clearcoat.
3M swirl mark remover, 3M finness it II, and Meguiar's9 2.0 are very popular for removing swirls.

Since you have a realtively new car, I would highly recommend Zaino waxes and polishes. All in all, they offer the greatest protection and quality out there. I does take time to apply (1-2 days for a good job), but the rewards are endless looking at a swirl-free, glossy black finish for about 3 months.
However, I was too lazy to reorder my Zaino, and had some Turtle Wax Color magic laying around from my brother's 300zx TT. It worked immaculately on his finish so I decided to try it on mine. It works great, but lasts for a few washes. Here is a pic of my latest wax job (almost every other wash).
