Jujitsu, Akeido, and regular karate. That's very nice Daniel Son, I bet you can catch flies with freakin chopsticks too, but that's not what I was referring too :stickoutt :rolleyes XFACTOR 09-03-2004, 05:48 PM I can roll cars(or trucks) like no ones buisness :D Does that count?? I grew up in a family of drag/circle track racers. But no formal training...BUT Wendy did get me lessons at the "Richard Petty school of racing" for my b-day this year (now I just need work to slow down enough I can go). jteef 09-03-2004, 05:52 PM I'd also like some sort of formal education in how to drive. The bmw cca seems kind of lacking in this state. Do the porsche, audi, or vette clubs do anything? I think vegas is prolly the closest place, otherwise. Unless you go to the autox's and ride with the guys who know what they're doing. 12:03 09-03-2004, 05:54 PM I learned JB a thing or two :devillook and soon enough Im gonna learn nick a thing or two :evil2 SehrSchnell 09-03-2004, 05:55 PM I'd also like some sort of formal education in how to drive. Just FYI jteef 09-03-2004, 06:00 PM WBMWCCA has a school coming up in October. Just FYI nice! i will sign up chmdrm 09-03-2004, 06:03 PM Done the BMWCCA local school thing. Worth doing as it is fun but not really a racing school. Like to do a real school but vegas or AZ I think are the closest. SehrSchnell 09-03-2004, 06:17 PM What are the poles the girls are hanging on it in your sig? Ya see, distracted again! :mad What was I going to say?.......Oh, yeah, dont know if it would ever work out, but maybe we (as a group) could look into one of the schools or something? I've been to a week long formal driving school but would love to attend another out of state. m3ster 09-03-2004, 10:07 PM I did the M5 driving school back in Dec 2001. jteef 09-03-2004, 10:42 PM What are the poles the girls are hanging on it in your sig? add one vote for 4th from the right...wait, can i have 2? SehrSchnell 09-03-2004, 11:06 PM I did the M5 driving school back in Dec 2001. Was it local? How was the program? Tonus 09-03-2004, 11:18 PM I went to the SCCA meet at the E-center last weekend, I actually meet Nick there. My friend's uncle was their with his Porsche. I got to participate in some "fun" runs with his son. He is a long time member of the Porsche Club, he was saying a lot of guys in the Wasatch BMWCCA come out and drive with them, well not a lot but the guys that really really want to learn how to drive!!! He said the closest is Las Vegas, where the WBMWCCA just had one in Spring, invited but way to expensive!!!! Also, his uncle said they do some training courses in Wendover. But I'm in for one. :buttrock Tonus 09-03-2004, 11:19 PM I mean I'm down if theirs one!!! euro4life 09-04-2004, 01:07 PM Jeff Blonder is organizing one... I plan on going. It's October 1st. $225 one day. It won't be much of a Drivers Edge thing as it will be open lapping though. He says it's almost full. Makr 09-05-2004, 09:52 PM I used to auto-x a lot, but havent in the last couple of years. I would get involved if you guys would. I have a motorcycle problem. Lohe 09-06-2004, 03:26 PM I have gone to the BMWCCA one in Vegas it was 2 days and the ALOT more fun than the e-centers auto-x. The only scca auto-x I would recomend is the ones they do in wendover the rest are to much standing for little racing. The last scca I did I was there for 6 hours and had 3.5 mins of drive time. The ones in wendover are alot better. But the best one I have done is the one is vegas LOST of drive time. I think each day was 5 or 6 half hour sections and you are out there with other people and passing them so it alot more fun. Plus every drive gets an instructor in there car to tell them what they are doing right and wrong. Plus you can when your group isnt on the track you can ride with the other instructors that arent teaching in there cars and MAN can they drive. I rode with one in his E46 M3-SMG and holy hell I was sooooo impressed after that I have wanted one sooo bad and plan on geting it after I am done with school down here. But any ways there is another bmwcca driving school coming up in AZ buts it the same date of our big drive 9-18-04 . chmdrm 09-06-2004, 06:41 PM How much was the two day one in Vegas? Makr 09-07-2004, 09:22 AM A bad motorcycle problem, worse than the drinking, women and gambling situation. zizux 09-07-2004, 01:19 PM scca has driving school out in wendover every once in a while. Does playing xbox racing games count? GNALUZU 09-07-2004, 01:51 PM The Roadrunner (Phoenix) chapter of the BMWCCA is having a two day driving school on October 9th & 10th. The event will be at Phoenix International Raceway which is an amazing track. The cost is around $400, depending on your membership status and what not. Check out the website for more information www.roadrunnerbmw.org I will definitely be there. Now, it is time for me to get on my soap box... I highly recommend that everyone attend and event like this. I have been participating in track events since '98. I have gone to performance driving schools like Derek Daly and Bondurant and can clearly say that the cost of these schools is well worth it. For the price, there is no better modification you can make to your car that would make you any quicker around the track. Yes, it is expensive, but the knowledge that you gain is well worth the price. From this thread it seems like you all want to become better drivers, and this is the perfect way to do it. ... Now stepping off the soap box... So, if any of you guys have any questions about the school let me know. I'd be more than happy to answer any questions, or point you guys in the right direction. Hope to see some of you there. ///Molloy 09-07-2004, 01:53 PM does playing xbox racing games count? ...To JB is does. He Owns on X-box. You oughta see him handle a GT-2 on nurburgring ... whoa.. :eek Lohe 09-07-2004, 02:38 PM The 2 day in Vegas was around 700-800 ish I dont rember sorry. |
