View Full Version : Goofball wheels on 745
2001IL 09-03-2004, 03:51 PM I saw a black 745 today on I285 with some really goofball wheels. They were so big that the car’s ride height had to be 1” to 2” higher than stock and the back space was way off too. They were offset so far out that it looked like the tires were rubbing on the fenders as the suspension moved on just the freeway bumps!!!
What’s with these goofballs?
ChicagoE38 09-03-2004, 04:09 PM Yeah, I saw a guy with what looked like 23's on a car in Chicago last week. Holy crap, it looked like a toy car.
What year is your Pantera? Any thoughts on 1972 model year? I'm contemplating a purchase from a neighbor.

Greater ground clearance for off-roading...!

Seeing as Paris Hilton is living proof you don't have to be poor to be white trash, while the person who owns/rents the car may or may not have been white they are probably trash.

Where's the drool smiley? Might have to get me one of those after I pay off the Ferrari.

DaveClement 09-03-2004, 06:33 PM Hey 2001IL, do you happen to know a guy that from the Seattle area that I used to work with, Chris Papendorf? He has a yellow '74 Pantera.

Yes I know Chris. He did this article for my website http://www.panteraplace.com/page149.htm and I’ve meet him a few times at our annual de Tomaso meet. Sure do miss those Dick’s burgers and fries in Seattle!
DaveClement 09-03-2004, 07:43 PM Yep, that's the article where I got the picture. Please say hi to him the next time that you happen to be in contact.

Reed knows me all too well LOL. I don't have one yet - I'm undecided between a 308, 328, or Cabriolet (you know, the CHEAP Ferrari's), it's going to be one of those so I won't be too intimidated to work on them and won't give my neighbors the impression it's OK to come over and ask me if they can borrow money or something.
ChicagoE38 09-07-2004, 01:09 PM I saw a 308 go at auction last year for $8K.
It was a theft with NO interior parts of any sort, but it started and drove... they had a $50 Kragen seat bolted in there... I guess I respect a ferrari with a Fiero interior more than vice-versa.
It was ugly, but it was somewhere to start and it was cheap...
I caught the fever for about the five minutes it took me to discover the cost of a single interior trim panel on a 308.
I keep seeing a guy posting wanting to buy used interior trim for a 308, so I think its still in skeletal form somewhere.

Chuckle...
So if you do get one, can WE borrow money?
