I recently added another layer of wolfgang sealant after a good wash. It subesquently rained and I was impressed with the beading of the water on the cars silky smooth finish. Even after sitting in the garage overnight, when I went to drive the car the following day, the water was still beading the same as when the car was put away the night before.

I wanted to top it with pinnacle carnuba wax this weekend, but once again the weather would not cooperate. :mad

I am really impressed with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone. It is easy to apply/remove and it leaves such a nice smooth finish. I have noticed at work after a good rain in the afternoon, my car is the only one in the lot with water beading in the evening. All of the other cars are bone dry...

I tested WG and only got 7 weeks of durability out of it before my paint was squeaky clean. Squeaky clean = no protection = WG all gone. Not a good thing. I definitely would not recommend this as a winter sealant.

Sorry to hijack... What is a good all season selant? I have never used a selant before and don't know what to look for? My car is cosmos black if that counts for anything.

There are a lot of gimmicky sealants on the market right now, WG is one of them. Don't get sucked in. If you want durability, there are only two to choose from, Zaino, or Klasse. Since your car is black, you may want to top either product with a carnuba wax after about 3 or 4 layers of either product. That should last you 6 months, at which time you can re-detail for spring and summer with your favourite product.

What makes WG a gimmicky sealant? I just used some of it, of course it doesn't get that cold down here in Texas, but I will try to see how long it lasts.

it's gimmicky because WG claims to last up to six months. Many new sealants claim that they last that long and people believe it simply because they are a sealant and that seams to be the new craze. Klasse and Zaino are the only ones that have passed the test. I wouldn't trust any of these new "sealants" coming out unless they are tested first.

Exaclty.

I have tested WG and it did not last me 6 months. My paint was squeaky clean after 7 weeks. Believe me, I wanted so bad for this product to succeed, but it just didn't live up to the durability claims.

Anyone who knows a damn about detailing on autopia have had similar experiences with blackfire, Platnium, and Poorboys.

Okay, well, I bought WG because I thought I had heard good things about it, but I guess it is time to dump it and get some Klasse when the results dissapoint... Thanks for the help guys :)

so what is the best wax or sealant that lasts?

Carnuba (Lasts about 4-6 weeks)
P21S/S100, Blitz

Synthetic Sealant (3 to 6 months)
Zaino, Klasse

I got about 10+ weeks out of the inital WG application but when I used it again, like David, I was alot shorter. I guess it has something to do with the formulation after it's exposed to air the first time. Times above are for a Daily Driver garaged nightly.

Hmmm... Well WG may not last as long as they say and i agree with that but I still get good results with it and i will continue it's use. Will i buy it again? I'm not sure but does look good on my car and that's all i ask for. I'm a carnuba kinda guy so duribility has never really "sold" a product for me.

Looks wet to me
