Hi all!

I have just registered here as I bought a bimmer! It's a 1993 525TDS SE that I got pretty cheap, just hoping that it should be reliable now! Only dodgy thing is that it doesn't have a service history although the bloke I am buying it off has owned it for 3 years

I can't find much information about the engine like what sort of service intervals it requires and what needs replacing, can anyone help me out here? I've been told that it doesn't have a cambelt, is this right? Does it have a timing chain instead then?

I am hoping I will just be able to drive it without having to do too much maintenance, time will tell.... it seemed good on the test drive, the suspension was a bit creaky which I had read about but the mechanic bloke I'm buying it from has said that he'll sort that out.

It comes with some fancy alloys on it, but I'd like to change them for the standard bmw alloys that come with the car, are these easy to find? How much should I expect to pay?

The car also has a towbar on it that I am planning to sell, do you reckon I'll be able to sell it?
