View Full Version : 1/4 mile fun with the turbo M10-POWER 08-14-2004, 03:42 AM 1 uberpanzer 08-14-2004, 10:23 AM .14 reaction time? So you red lighted? Or was it a .64 RT? But the times are good, esp at 3500ft with a slipping clutch. Any idea what that would be adjusted to sea level? BMWJNKY 08-14-2004, 03:01 PM .14 reaction time? So you red lighted? Or was it a .64 RT? I was thinking the same thing. Maybe the track he goes to automatically takes off the .400. Those are some nice times but I don't think you will gain a whle second by changing the clutch. You will have to take at least .3-.5 off of your 60' time a pick up about 7-10 MPH to get close to 12's. If you do like you said and turn up the boost, new clutch and more agressive cam you might be able to do it but going from a 13.9 to 12.XX is a big jump. Some basic drag racing facts you may be interested in: for every 100 pounds you take out of your car you reduce your ET by about .1sec and for every .1sec you take off of your 60' time you reduce your ET by about .2sec. TheNeek 08-14-2004, 11:46 PM Good times Paul my man. Who knows how those Canadians run drag strips :) I know the car is a road course machine, but dialing in the rear end to top out in 4th or 5th gear at the 1/4 mile will make it a ton faster. Of course this is a little out there. Smaller wheels and tires would do the same thing. On a side note. I dropped in a Bosch Big fuel pump today (spare off Jakes M3). Should be good up to 500hp. The supra guys use them so it'll be more than adequite for my application. jbob 08-15-2004, 07:55 AM awesome! how come you didn't go 20psi? no race gas? or didn't want to beat on the clutch much more? jbob 08-15-2004, 02:28 PM doh, sorry about that....was drunk @ a friends house last night & found a computer. :eyecrazy high-speed, night, autox.....man, that sounds like a ton of fun. :) BMWJNKY 08-15-2004, 02:44 PM otherwise its 94 octane from the pump. Damn you and your high octane from the pumps :stickoutt The one thing that sucks the most about living in Cali is we only get 91 as our premium :mad M1 #43022 08-15-2004, 07:08 PM nice! i remember a video from the 1/4 mile track? couple yrs back...yours i think? :eek Leetheslacker 08-16-2004, 12:54 AM .014 I've been told that some tracks run a pro tree, where the perfect time is .000 instead of .400 BoostedE21 08-16-2004, 11:54 AM WOW, those are nice numbers Paul! how are the cams coming? When are you going to dyno it? EFreak 08-16-2004, 08:18 PM but I want a dyno plot to compare stock to modified. LOL, "stock" . Aren't you the www.320i.com guy? |
