View Full Version : the Cheap Gas in SoCal thread
M3boarder 08-13-2004, 02:02 AM i thought this would be a good thing to start to help everybody out and save some money, heres my contribution:
*South OC*
in dana point:
-monarch beach chevron, off pch just south of crown valley
-chevron on pch just north of golden lantern, next to hennessey's. usually the same price as monarch chevron.
in laguna niguel:
-from what i hear the 76 by target, off la paz and oso
in laguna hills:
-from what i hear the chevron off of alicia just west of the 5
if you have anymore to contribute then list them here, but state what area ur in first. also dont list arco's cuz theyre all already cheap, just major quality companies (chevron, 76, shell, etc.), no shitty gas.

active9x 08-13-2004, 12:37 PM USC gas station is always 10cents cheaper than any place I can ever find. Too bad you can't use cash. :P
76 station on Rosecrans & Downey, in Paramount is always a few cents cheaper than a 5 mile radius. Only place that could beat it is arco stations but you will catch me skinny dipping in a public pool before I use arco. lol
(used it when I had my bug and I had to change fuel filter twice in one month so PHUCK THAT)
Don't know how long this thread is goin to go for so the rate gas is changing daily, I rather not post prices.

you go to SC?
E36Eric 08-13-2004, 01:05 PM Everyone knows this spot. Atlantic and Shorb(i think), right by Valley blvd $2.17 for 91. Should be a lil cheaper now.
**Oceanside / Carlsbad **
$2.23/gal - 76 on El Camino Real just south of Mission (near my house)
Costco on Palomar Airport Road. Not sure on the price right now, but if you got a Costco card, its always cheaper there :)
UNIQUE///M3 08-13-2004, 02:17 PM Off of Balboa Ave. between the 805 and 163 there is a Chevron. Gas is at least .10 cheaper for 91 than anywhere else in the area. In Encinitas off of the 5 freeway and encinitas blvd. the chevron there is next door to an Arco so to compete the gas prices are just a few cents higher than arco.

If I ran out of Gas on the freeway and there was an ARCO off that exit I would PUSH my car to the next exit to avoid that crappy gas.

UNIQUE///M3 08-13-2004, 09:00 PM this is what you will pay if you go to chevron off of the 5 freeway and Via De La Valle.
KnightRider/AMG 08-14-2004, 01:01 AM Arco.
nope, its definately a 76, I go there about once every other day.
Edinger and newhope. I work near there, so I know.
EclipsedEvo 08-14-2004, 01:27 AM Brea/La Habra:
76 Station on Imperial Hwy between Euclid and Idaho St. (They are always cheaper than the other stations not named Arco in the area.)
Soup Nazi 08-14-2004, 05:01 AM nope, its definately a 76, I go there about once every other day.
Edinger and newhope. I work near there, so I know.
Shut-up bitch, I got you that job in the first place so I work near there too, so I would know even better because i've been working near there longer!
It's Arco for sure.

Off the Brookhurst Exit on the 5 Freeway... Mobil Gasoline for $2.15 for 92 Octane! (its not a typo... 92!) :buttrock
BiMMa b0i M3 08-16-2004, 04:22 AM nope, its definately a 76, I go there about once every other day.
Edinger and newhope. I work near there, so I know.
yeah, i would have to agree, it is a 76 gas station, i never fill my gas up there coz i dont go to any place in that area. Soup Nazi, I think ur talking about the one on Edinger and Euclid, the one Paul is talking about is on Edinger/Newhope. It is on the Fountain Valley/Santa Ana border. they do usually have cheap prices, but I saw one in Cypress, it is a 76 gas station, i forgot the cross streets.
1.91 for 87
1.99 for 89
2.07 for 91
I had to fillup my gas tank on the way to cypress college to pay for my registration fees and all of that other nonsense, I was suprised, maybe I should purposely fill up my gas tank there. it usually takes about $32-$34 to fill up my tank to full with 91, but there is was only like $29-$30. its only a couple of bucks, but the couple of bucks I saved bought my dinner at El Taqueria.

amdspitfire 08-16-2004, 01:51 PM now is it really worth it to go out of your way to save AT MOST $1??
92 e30 cabrio 08-16-2004, 11:13 PM All prices are for premium per gallon. All gas stations on this list are Chevron. They all have low-car-friendly entrances.

tomas3314 08-17-2004, 01:11 AM The 76 Station in Pico Rivera on Rosemead Blvd. and Whittier Blvd. is always the least expensive place I ever find. I'll post up some current prices tommorrow. :buttrock
aweather 08-18-2004, 10:51 AM I'm exclusively chevron but it seems like the one in North Dana Point is almost always the cheapest around. It's one block south of Crown Valley on PCH.
Putting in the "official fuel of Nascar" seems a little sacreligious. :)
amdspitfire 08-18-2004, 12:20 PM 2.09 for 87 @ the shell on jamboree in newport beach.
The damn v-power is more than 20 cents more expensive than it though. First time using v-power ... cant really feel any more power ;-)
clumpymold 08-19-2004, 02:30 AM Everyone knows this spot. Atlantic and Shorb(i think), right by Valley blvd $2.17 for 91. Should be a lil cheaper now.
