View Full Version : Anyone in SoCal with a UUC TSE on their E36 I could hear/meet up with?
TCG///M3 08-12-2004, 09:23 PM I am caught between the UUC TSE and a Stromung for my 97 M3. I rode in a car with a Stromung today and liked it, but want to hear/ride in a UUC TSE before I buy one just to make sure I don't want to go that route instead. Let me know if anyone would be available. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
tomas3314 08-12-2004, 09:39 PM Can I be of service? :stickoutt sig....
TCG///M3 08-12-2004, 09:42 PM yeah man....are you going to the pasadena meet tonigh by any chance at fuddruckers?
tomas3314 08-12-2004, 10:16 PM (Sorry took so long to reply, net acting up)....I might try to make it but don't know if I'll have time. Plus my suspension is on its last leg, will be installing the UUC kit this Sat. If I don't make it to the meet we can arrange something else though....
TCG///M3 08-12-2004, 10:38 PM sounds good man. yeah im only gonna go to the pasadena meet if you are going, because I would really just wanna hear your exhaust. let me know whenever you're available. my schedule is pretty open.
tomas3314 08-12-2004, 10:49 PM Well since I am still here I doubt I'll have a chance to go. Maybe this Sat. we can meet up after my suspension install. I'll keep in contact or just pm me. I don't live too far away and work not to far from Dodger Stadium (work for the city). Also I check my email hourly on my phone tomas3314@yahoo.com. Everything aside, I love the UUC TSE. Looks great and sounds awesome (even on my automatic-unfortunately,lol). Weight reduction is a major plus. I believe it only weights 34lbs. All I can say though is it is a bit on the loud side. (A good loud though). I guess its all about taste, sounds threatning.....I can imagine especially on an M3 ;) .
TCG///M3 08-12-2004, 10:56 PM sounds good...as far as i know im free on saturday. let me know when would be good. did you have any trouble mounting the uuc tse...as far as it mounting straight and aligned? thanks for your quick responses man.
tomas3314 08-12-2004, 11:03 PM I unfortunately was pressed for time the weekend I received it so I took it to a shop for install. Looked fairly easy and really looked like a DIY. It aligned and fit perfectly. You can adjust the alignment of it with some spacers/washer it comes with (if I recall correctly). I'll try and post some pictures of it.
TCG///M3 08-12-2004, 11:06 PM sweet man...i would love to see some pics
tomas3314 08-12-2004, 11:38 PM Checked...I think they are on my other computer at home. Will post tommorrow or else I'll just take some more.
TCG///M3 08-14-2004, 04:39 PM Sounds good man just let me know.
Anyone else out there in SoCal with a UUC TSE preferably on an E36 M3 that I could hear?
tomas3314 08-15-2004, 03:03 AM Hey man sorry I didn't get ahold of you today. Didn't finish the suspension install. Worked on it for 12hrs. Will finish up tommorrow, I'll try to get a hold of you if you still want to check out the exhaust.
KnightRider/AMG 08-15-2004, 04:30 AM what happened?!? you and chris ran into other problems?

Well we went to rent the spring compressor from Kragen (all broken), then went to Autozone (had one= death trap & useless), then went to Pepboys and all rentals were out. Ended up having to buy one which worked. We kind of struggled with the first strut because the pictoral instructions were worth a sh!t. Had to figure it out on our own since the new suspension came in pieces and had to figure it out like a nasty puzzle. With the first strut done everything else was a piece of cake. Unfortunatly we lost the sun rather quick an had to work in the dark w/ a few flashlights. Ended up slashing a brake line :eek . Luckily Chris was kind enough to offer a spare, we left it at. Have one last strut to install and fix/bleed brake line. We did install the rear shocks and springs, front and rear swaybars and a strut. Looks good so far.
CarbonBlkE36 08-15-2004, 03:05 PM you would have to hear it on another M3, since ur looking for 1 for a m3. its gonna be way different sounding than a regular 3er car. plus whatever exhaust u get match it up with the track pipe. sounds awsome
TCG///M3 08-15-2004, 04:11 PM do you know anyone with the tse on an E36 M3 in socal?
TCG///M3 08-15-2004, 10:13 PM Anyone who has one and is down to meet up please shoot me a PM. Thanks.
SoonToBeM3 08-16-2004, 03:55 AM If you find someone who to meet up with get me a sound clip so I can hear it :) I also have a 97 M3(2 door) and a buddy of mine said the UUC tse was the way to go but I really wanna hear how it sounds on our car.
I have one - but I'm way down here in san diego. But but ... perhaps you could hear it from up there :D
tomas3314 08-16-2004, 07:43 PM I am caught between the UUC TSE and a Stromung for my 97 M3. Hey what's up. Don't want you to think I have forgotten, just the worst things keep happening. I posted a few pics of my problem in a thread in the 3-series (e 36) section of my new UUC suspension :shifty . Long story short had a new RSM fail on my way home from the suspension install. Working on the problem since then. Sorry for the delay. If you don't happen to catch another person w/ a UUC in a M3 or not I'll still be available as soon as I figure everything out.
tomas3314 08-21-2004, 02:22 PM Here's some pics although only on a 325i...
