my obc just showed the message "1 brake light fail" and i think my brake light might be out but how come it comes on only sometimes? is it a loose connection or something? any help would be great

Either that or the connection just loosened up. Good luck. 98M3_4 08-12-2004, 04:31 AM You could have someone check to see if a light is in fact out. Or you could re-install the light bulb and holder into the tail light to see if it was a connection. Also check your contact points on the bulb holder assembly to see if they need to be cleaned up- give it a little action with a wire brush or steel wool Patrokloss 08-12-2004, 06:57 PM Go ahead and try checking for bad bulbs or loose connections and clean your contact points. If that doesn't work, just replace all the bulbs and it should go away. For some reason a perfectly good bulb can sometimes cause an intermittant failure message. I don't understand why it happens and I don't like throwing away perfectly functional bulbs, but replacing all the bulbs was the only thing that fixed it for me. |
