I talked to this guy and the car has Bilstein PSS9s, UUC exhaust, UUC SSK, Sparco Seats, 4 point bolt in roll bar, 18" Hamman's with some sore of Pirelli racing slick, 14" Brembo brakes, the engine is completely stock, front splitter, rear spoiler, front strut brace, rear shock tower brace, sway bars
He told me he had $20,000 invested. does this sound right?
I think he is asking too much
what do you guys think?
He's got an off the shelf street suspension, a few bolt-ons, a rollbar, seats, bling wheels with slicks, a front BBK and some aero do-dads. Not too extreme of a setup IMO.
I'd have to say the asking price is a bit high...
B.Watts 08-09-2004, 11:27 PM WAY high on asking price.
euro4life 08-09-2004, 11:45 PM and I would have to say that his pic is the WORST I have ever seen.
Def said it all. Thread closed.
postmaster 08-09-2004, 11:47 PM does some one want to call him and tell him he is asking too much for me?
does some one want to call him and tell him he is asking too much for me?
no. stop being such a priss. go up to him and make an offer. he will refuse, give him your card and say call me in a month when it's still for sale if you want to make a deal.
euro4life 08-09-2004, 11:53 PM does some one want to call him and tell him he is asking too much for me?
I will, but I bet I will piss him off in the process. :devillook
nsk223 08-09-2004, 11:59 PM That guys dreaming; offer him 12k.
postmaster 08-10-2004, 01:13 AM no. stop being such a priss. go up to him and make an offer. he will refuse, give him your card and say call me in a month when it's still for sale if you want to make a deal.
That is what I plan to do, I was thinking that it would help if multiple people told him, he was asking way too much
krisko 08-10-2004, 08:04 AM That thing is far from a race car. The only stuff worth keeping is the UUC, Evo seats and maybe the Brembos if the brakes work well with the car.
It's not worth a penny over $14,000 and that's only because it has fairly low miles.
dinomite 08-10-2004, 10:04 AM It'd be worth 18-19 if it's in *perfect* shape inside and out. You're missing the stock seats, though....
badmonkey 08-10-2004, 11:11 AM If you've even considered spending $25k on a '95 M3 for track use, get an EvoVIII
instead for not much more.

Suneal 08-10-2004, 11:41 AM Without a doubt, this is the first time I've seen slicks on Hamann wheels :stickoutt
sunir 08-10-2004, 11:56 AM that car is far from a racecar...note the hamann wheels and other fine accuturements. Looks like someones double duty street whip and occasional DE car....
Steve J. 08-10-2004, 12:09 PM if you want a "race" car, and does not have to be street legal, there are q bunch of WC cars for sale in that range that are worth 5 times the car posted above, and are MUCH better.
jmott 08-10-2004, 12:11 PM For $5k less than that you can have my 325i, its closer to a race car than that =)

Steve...your just jealous because Sofro didn't include that set of 19" Hamanns in the spares package for you're ride... :devillook :D ....don't hate da playa, hate da game foo ;) :stickoutt
Steve J. 08-10-2004, 12:19 PM HAHA, ya thats all I need, 45lb wheels holding my tiny 2.5L back, LOL. I miht as well grab some 22 chroms and make my own widebody kit flared sides and UP into the cabin.
But seriously, you can find a WC and "real" racecars (not a hodge pdge street car) for $20-25K, and WC is a great place to look for a car, just don't rush into anything, make sure you know its history, etc.
bimmerdriver99 08-10-2004, 12:38 PM That is really over priced especially if he beats in on the track. I would go no higher than 16k if that. He does have nice rims but they are proboly not in that good of shape. There are proboly stone chips like crazy on the fornt. I say if you wanted to buy the car for track use or a daily driver i wouldnt go any higher than 15k depending on the condition of the wheels/ paint exetra.
old skool 08-10-2004, 01:00 PM ha ha ha.....no one mentioned the wing. That is a piece....calculate the cost to remove and repair.....
B.Watts 08-10-2004, 04:38 PM ha ha ha.....no one mentioned the wing. That is a piece....calculate the cost to remove and repair.....
Ehh. I know a few club racers who have used similiar "cheapy" wings quite effectively. In fact, mounted a little higher, it would probably work as well as the PTG style wings most folks are using.
Steve J. 08-10-2004, 05:37 PM The wings they use in WC-T might look ricey, but they most likely, if there were no regulations on height (like in wc) they would work better than the PTG adjustable wings. The only thing holding back the performance of the wings in WCT is the restrictions they use for the height (6" below roof line i believe). What happens when the wing is too low, is it does not get fully "clean" air to benefit from. I have a 2003 spec WC wing on my car with the large end plates. I am going to be raising it up (since i dont race it in wc) and will be raising it up and back a couple inches. I'm actually going to calculate the best place for it though, because it really will make a difference.
Here is a quick cad model i did to start doing some tests with different ways to readjust the wing. I'd rather just move it then pay $1000 for a new wing. http://gallery.underclockers.net/albums/6-28-04-at-Pocono/Assembled.jpg
mrdane 08-12-2004, 05:20 PM Sorry, to change topic a bit, but what is "WC"?

328's running in ITS? Now how would you pull that off, considering the threat of performance weight penalties for the "overdog" 325 in ITS?
