Just curious if there is a possibility something like this might crop up in the next five or so years?

This is assuming everyone has heard of Spec E30 (http://www.northamericanbavarianracing.com/SpecE30.htm).

It only makes sense to me.. the cars are getting older, cheaper. It would be nice to be able to run competively on a track without having to go full out to keep up with BMW CCA standards.

Possibility?

I don't see a big difference between specE30 and CR stock racing. I got my E36 M3 for just over 11 grand, so the cars are getting cheaper.
