Here are my choices for suspension set ups Eibach/Koni sports or H&R/Koni sports.

I called and spoke to a salesperson at Shox.com and he could not tell me how much the car would be lowered because I have sport suspension currently. My concern is that I have OE M5 wheels with 540i rear wheel liners and have no rubbing issues. I believe the H&R set up is lower, but how much lower?

Anyone here have either set up having had sport suspension previously?

Any advise would be great!

Thanks

I had sport suspension before I put on my H&R / Koni combo. I kept the 540 wheel liners but rolled the fenders as a precaution. I have 19x9.5 with 275 rubber on the back with no rubbing. The offset is 21.5 on those wheels. The tire sits pretty close to the liner but has not rubbed.

I believe H&R Sports is supposed to lower a car w/ Sports suspension an additional .75" front and .6" rear according to what I saw on some websites selling H&R. It should be on H&R website. So I guess that would be total lowering of about 1.25"-1.3" front and 1.0-1.1" rear compared to stock non-Sports suspension, assuming the Sports suspension is about a .5" give or take lowering.
Depending on the rear wheel offset and tire size (if 19x9.5 or 10, then 275/30 is most applied size) you may have rubbing issues. Seems like most people with any kind of aftermarket lowering roll the rear fenders as a precaution or had rubbing issues.

I just has a set of H&R springs fitted to my 1997 540, it has dropped it 15mm at the rear and 30mm at the front.
I have not had any issues with rubbing etc, I am running OEM M5 rims and 265/35/18 on the rear and 245/40/18 on the front.
Hope this helps
