So last years Ferrari F1 car is still blowing everyone else into the weeds (1st & 2nd by a long way in Friday practice).

When the F2002 makes its debut the others really won't stand a chance.

Try again next year BMW & Mercedes.

You can see from my avatar where my loyalties lie (allthough if it can't be Ferrari then I'd rather see Williams BMW win over McLaren Mercedes any day).

Can't wait until Sunday - when the flag drops, the bullsh*t stops.

Michael.

Bah. Practice is just that, practice. I'm starting a new race series this year, so the drivers don't know me. I'm sure as heck not going to go out during testing and run fast laps if I don't have to. That way, I remain an unknown until the flag drops.

Ferrari has nothing to lose, everyone knows how fast they were last year. The rest of the teams aren't going to play their cards until it counts. I'm betting you'll see the Williams cars doing just fine come race day.

I'd say tonights qualifying is when we'll really see what's what.

The gap to the rest will be smaller in qualifying but I'm pretty confident Ferrari will still be on top.

Still, Montoya looks like the only person in recent years capable of seriously challenging Schumacher (M) so if the Williams BMW is good and reliable it could be a close championship.

Michael.

Although rains became a factor before the clock ran out. Is this a forcast? Will have to wait and see. Although, I would like to see Allan McNish pull some feats this season considering his Sports Car roots.

1 Rubens Barrichello Ferrari 1m25.843
2 Michael Schumacher Ferrari 1m25.848
3 Ralf Schumacher Williams 1m26.279
4 David Coulthard McLaren 1m26.446
5 Kimi Raikkonen McLaren 1m27.161
6 Juan Pablo Montoya Williams 1m27.249

Yep, Ferrari's 2001 model still spanks everyone current year model. Toyota has much work to do. Suprised with will their pace (almost 5 secs a lap slower). But what I tell ya. Just like last year. 1) Ferrari, 2) Williams, 3) McClaren.

WTF is all I gotta say!! Talk about laying the smack down...There were two different races...Schumacker and everyone else...Damn...Its not like the Williams ride was short on ponies.

I got to see this at a CEC show room with the BMW CCA - Los Angeles chapter with a room full of Bimmer nuts and Ferrari heads and I mean what an f***ing race! Talk about airborne! Ferrari laid the smackdown, but luckily BMW was in 2nd...though a distant second. Hope they do better next time. Good to see my fellow Colombian smoking the trails "Down Under".

It was an awesome race, but Schumacher was awesome though. Gotta give props to him.

Micheal's pass was awesome, I think. The way he prepared for it patiently for couple laps and then nailed it down. As he said afterwards, though, Montoya looks like was short on tires at that time :(

I hope they improve those Michelins soon, or a lot of teams will be very unhappy running with them against Ferrari's.

I could not fully tell from the TV, but was the Williams' cars pulling really away from the Ferrari on the straights? It look like it, but Micheal was masterfully breaking late in turn 1.
