Trying to gauge interest in a get-together BMW weekend for everyone, here is the idea:

Fri Oct 1 - Clean cars and drive from Mass down to NY for Bimmerfest, find a hotel somewhere. (CT and RI'ers can join the caravan)
Sat Oct 2 - Bimmerfest East NYC
Sat evening - head back to CMT's place for a relaxed evening of festivities (food/drinks/music/prep for sunday)
Sun Oct 3 - Bavarian Auto Show & Shine

Who would be up for doing this?

Some of the CT heads are planning on making the trip. I think about 4-5 of us.

It was impossible to plan a successful drive down on Fri, Oct 1st - therefore I have completed a plan to best suit everyone's needs...

on Sat, Oct 2nd @ 4:30pm **

Due to various conflicting agendas, this allows you to arrive at your own leisure on Friday evening and will also prevent anyone from being left out. (We can still cruise down in groups if you want) I have decided not to assume responsiblity for coordinating hotel rooms since people always bail out at the last minute. Everyone is welcome to join the caravan on the condition that you abide all local and federal traffic laws. Keep your cars and driving record clean, this is going to be a relaxing weekend for everyone to enjoy. We encourage you to (safely) capture all the media you can on the drive up! Remember: it's not a race so don't be that idiot...

Here are some tips for the trip (feel free to add any):

Make sure you have a full tank of gas before we leave - the group will not wait for you
Familiarize yourself with the route beforehand
Relax!
Pack some warm clothes in case it gets chilly
Charge the batteries to your camera
Bring a few supplies to clean or dust the car for Sunday
The cheap $9 fold-out chairs are worth having
Have a good time!


Attached below is the itenerary with directions for the route we will be taking. Print it out and keep a copy with you!.

Saturday evening will be held casually at CMT's house. (BYOB) We will be cleaning the cars for Show & Shine if necessary and just hanging out. There are a few hotels near North Andover if you need one. I have plenty of room at my house if friends of mine want a place to crash, only 15 mins away

Keep in mind that BavAuto Show & Shine starts at 10am on Sun Oct 3rd, with gates opening at 8am. 400+ cars show up which means parking is at a premium since there are only 350 spots. The earlier we arrive, the better chance you have of getting a good spot. We will coordinate everyone who is attending on Saturday night so there is no confusion.
