I am pleased to inform everyone that Dension has done it. I have it. It works perfectly. It's awesome. I was invited by Tom at Dension to visit them in Long Beach and bring my M3 with Sirius Radio and NAV to have the Ice-Link installed and prove the ultimate combo of SAT radio and Ipod could be operational together.

First off, these are great people with a genuine desire to make a great product. I had a great time and left with a killer install.

There were some glitches. The system worked right out of the box in about 30 minutes. However, as we navigated from the IPod to Sirius, to the CD player, to the radio, and back we encountered some anomalies. The Sirius and Ipod would play audio over each other, the IPod would not power down, etc.

The harness is one complicated MOFO and this was a first on an active Sirius account.

Their install tech is named Chase and this guy knows his stuff. He and Tom just kept at it. In the end, it required a couple of subtle tweaks and this thing rocks.

Tom took a gazillion pictures and will post a DIY. There will be some delay in bringing the refinements that were done today into the production models but I will let Tom speak to that.

I can tell you that toggling from Sirius to IPod to CD Player to Radio from the steering wheel is cool beyond words.

I promised not to talk about what's coming next for the on screen display.

I'm interested in a parts list and instructions as needed. I have a more than capable shop with audio experience near by. I would just need to take a parts list, prices and instructions to them...

Is your M3 NAV or non-NAV? Also, I will need to know what mounting solution you wish to go with (Active Cradle or Dock Connector).

For NAV-equipped vehicles, we recommend the [I11_BMW_T] which will require picking up the CD Changer interface from the rear of the trunk area (Driver's Side) and running the cable as seen in the above link on the Sirius-equipped M3.

Non NAV BMWs can go with the [I11_BMW_T] kit or opt for the [I11_BMW_R40S] kit which connects from the back of the radio, eliminating the need for running a cable from the trunk area.

The ice>Link comes with everything needed with exception of the iPod. The instal is relatively simple - a typical home user can install the unit in just under 90 minutes.

If you have any further questions regarding the ice>Link or installation help - feel free to contact me offline at tom@densionusa.com. If you like, I can also email you the installation instructions beforehand.
