View Full Version : damn bird crap!!!, it stained my paint, whats the best method to clean it off???
jefiddler 02-26-2002, 03:52 PM damn it!! My car got dumped on today by some angry birds. Anyway, I rushed home as soon as I could to clean it off. I first hosed the car down and used car wash to get the crap off. It worked fine, but in a few spots there are stains in the paint from the bird crap. Is there anyway to get these stains out?, or is it something you have to live with?? You have to look at the paint at an angle to see the stains, but I am really picky when it comes to cleaning my baby. Thanks guys!!

SilverStreak 02-27-2002, 09:35 AM I would try a polish, Meguiars, Mothers, Liquid Glass, try that first, rub it in, use some elbow grease, let it haze, remove it, take a look, if you got the stain off, wax over that spot to protect it after the polishing.
If the stains remain, try a more aggressive cleaner/polish, a swirl remover or bug and tar remover product, again, if it gets it out, wax that spot afterwards.
If it still remain, try a light compound and be careful...
Lance325is 03-06-2002, 09:27 PM yea i have a bird crap stain on my car and was wondering what kind of light compoud you recomned? what do you mean by careful like trying a little bit and keep adding until it does the job or not rubbing to hard if you could explain that would be great...
SilverStreak 03-07-2002, 09:29 AM Start with the least harsh product (like a polish) and work your way to harshest (like a compound) until it does the job.
With each application, don't use too much of the product and don't rub super-hard.
And don't rub for a prolonged period of time, stop once in a while, look at the rag, see if the color is coming up on it, check the stain again, real close, etc.
And make sure you wax that spot when you're done to protect it.

Why did you wait so long? Spit on the shit stain and use your shirt or your socks to clean it up. Fucking birds!! :chainsaw:
IK632 03-28-2002, 01:41 PM I am in the process of trying Meguairs Medallion paint cleaner. They tell me that it will remove stains, water spots, and other marks. I will have a writeup next week.

I would think with a later model BMW, seeing color is really really bad, because you just went through the clearcoat. I remember on my E30, I would get it if I used a cleaner, but they weren't clearcoated like the E36s.
