I've driven that track; Barber Motorsport Park.

Tony got it, almost at apex of the corkscrew. Great track, totally different than RA. You have no time to rest on that track. You are either on the gas, on the brakes or turning.
Some poor guy totalled, so I heard, and E46 330(?). Went off two wheels came back too hard and went to the inside armco almost head on.

I'm so pissed I couldn't go last weekend...that track is a blast and I definitely left some on the table last time I was there. I'll be hitting the track on saturday...well the museum anyway when I take my car to B'ham to get some work done.

It was a fun track... unfortunately the severe thunderstorms came through Sunday afternoon and cut things a little short. There was a professional motorsports photographer there for the weekend, the CD with all the pics of my car will arrive in a week. Until then, this is the pic I have from him in the kink on the back straight:

I talked to the photographer and said I thought there would be a market for his services at Road Atlanta this fall with the Peachtree Club. It seemed like he would be interested. I'm sure the more interest (maybe via e-mail) people express the more likely he would be to show up at an event:

I'm dumbfounded that somebody wouldn't shoot these BMW/Porsche events. Let's see, we've got some discretionary income, we're enthusiasts, and we're at least a little vain. It would seem they could make a ton of cash. I got a 24x36 collage of photos of my Audi made after a Sebring event. It cost me like $175, it was tough to swallow at the time but it's a real conversation piece.

One big negative for a pro is that the track wants a fee that the photographer pays no matter how many or few photos he sells.

There have been photographers at several events I've attended. My sig pic is at Sebring, I also have CMP and a shot from RA from a long time ago. If I had a better camera and a set up like some of these guys have I'd be doing this in a heartbeat. I think the lowest price pic this guy had was $35 and the cd was $75 and I'd bet almost every C, D and most B group people bought.

Yes, it's nose was all bashed in and he had to flatbed it out :(
Apparently it was his daily driver.

Afterward Dave, the classroom instructor, stressed to us the 'okayness' of being chill with 2 wheels off the track...go ahead and make it 4 and save yourself some money!
