A bunch of us BMW fanatics and other lunatics are getting together for an evening of "fun racing" at Great Lakes Dragaway (http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com) on Wednesday, July 28th. The track is about 5 miles west of I-94 and 10 miles north of the WI-IL border.
The track is open from 6 PM until 11 PM. The cost is $25 if you want to race or $12 if you just want to watch. $25 buys you as many runs as time permits over the 5 hours. You'll typically be able to make up to 15 runs during that time, if you and your car have the fortitude!
:eyesscan READ THE FAQ'S HERE (http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com/index.php?page=faq) to find out if you need a helmet or any special equipment. :eyesscan
Basically you need a helmet if your car is faster than 13.99. You must wear long pants to race. You may NOT wear tank tops or muscle shirts - your shirt must at least have short sleeves to race.
There will be a small (or maybe large?) caravan of cars leaving the Park'n'Ride lot off Ryan Road east of I-94 at 5:30. Let me know if you want to join the caravan so we don't leave without you!
It's a lot of fun and you can see what your car can do!
