total of 13 hours of driving.... my trek continued from the top of the trip all the way to the mississippi, good thing i didnt have a gun. :eyecrazy:

wanted to say thanks to all those that got it together and participated. Nice putting faces to ...cars and meeting a bunch of new people. All of you were genuine, even through the carnage. ;)

this was my first mtn drive, im still grinning ear to ear. for some reason, it seems to me that it was considerably an eventful meet. maybe next time we wont get lost... or was it the directions. either way, i was in for the ride. :alright

thanks! -Wil.

Once we were lost, I didn't think we would be able to find everyone. Good thing that sheriff found us. Plus we got to drive through Helen and see the Lamborghini that was pulled over, that was cool.

Ditto!

I had a blast and I'm sure my car was screaming for some mountain passes for quite some time and I was happy to please it! :D

Thanks again!

Yeah, the cop was really nice!! At first I was like oh_shit here come "bubba" to give us all tickets as we basically were parked in someone's driveway. Plus, about 10 minutes earlier I had just blown past this truck within inches of hitting another as I was overtaking! :D But he was real cool, gave us an alternate route to our next stop and even said "nice car man".. to me..

Well, it was all Jamie's' (Jweb) fault for us getting lost!! Just kidding!! :stickoutt

what's funny is that we had so many instances of ppl getting "lost" that I am not even sure which time you guys are talking about LOL.

This was just after Helen. We went through Helen and I guess you guys went around it?. Anyway, we ended up meeting you guys after about almost half an hour!! :)

It was nice meeting everyone; it's too bad I had to leave at the top of 400. At least I got to snap a few pictures of the Z8. I am glad to hear that everyone made it back OK. Too bad for the green M3. I had a flashback of fishtailing with the traction control off when I read the post. Best luck to him with the repairs, replacement, etc.

On the way back into town I did see a really nasty motorcycle accident. Buddy was laying in the middle of the road (northbound) with his bike on the side. All lanes were blocked. I got to use my BMW assist for the first time. Took BMW 3 minutes to respond after I pressed the button (hows that for an emergency). Chalk it up to more justification to have a fast car rather than a fast bike.

I don't know if anyone is interested but there is a HUGE car show in Charlotte in August at the race track. it is completely filled with every make car club, the have an auction, etc. It's a really fun event. The Tar heels chapter of the CCA has a pretty good showing. My friend has a true M3 lighweight, M3 e30, and an M coupe that he shows. If anyones interested I will post the information when I know more.

Cheers...

Traction control? HA, we dont need no stinking TC! ;)
Actually, i am very lucky to have just installed the lsd. im sure it was a good thing!

heh, i kinda felt my car was the more ..... under-developed bmw out there. not like it really matters, i was just surprised to see only jweb with the other e30. i guess i did pretty good to keep up with everyone on the faster stretches. burned a lot of oil though.

Hey bud
I'd like some more information on the meet. If you are planning to go let me know, maybe we can drive there with our cars.

Thanks
