I think I'm going to have to enter into the Targa New Foundland sometime. Maybe next year if I can swing it. I was just watching the show covering the events on Speed.

They had an 88 M3, and a 72 Bavaria with a rally suspension and M3 engine (didn't say what generation M3 though). Both did fairly well in their repsecive classes.

yeah, i caught some of that on speedtv today.....pretty cool stuff. that bavaria was kicking some ass. there was a 2002 in the rally too, but they didn't mention it.

i don't think i would ever put my car through something like that......either use a dedicated car (track car), or go gumball style! get a rental car, sticker it up, & have fun beatin the crap out of it.

Rental car.... :devillook

But I'll have a e21 track rat at some point here people.....I would need a co-driver for that type of thing, right?

Was the Bavaria blue? It may have been Bill Arnold's car from Cali (I think). They wrote it up in either Bimmer or Roundel.

I'd be willing to use my car for the first year, since I probably won't be able to attend and complete a professional driving school. To compete in the actual rally, you have to either have enough track experiance from other stuff, a professional drivers license, or have competed in the touring competetion for at least one year.

Touring you shouldn't even have to break the legal speed limit to win in. A G35 coupe won the touring this year.

Oh and yeah, co-driver seems to be required, but I think there was a guy in his son's Integra that didn't have a co-driver. You could always email the targa oragnisers as to weather or not you need one.

It was Arnold's car, but it was silver. It is heavily modified though, I think has an M5 motor, has the 5 series suspension, roll cage, the works. I had an article detailing all its development.

my buddy was gona signup for it last year with his 2002 WRX, but after calling they told him $3000 CDN each for the driver and co-driver, plus motels, gas, eventual rapairs... it ended up exceeding his budget

but it looks like damn fun. its only a few hours away from me in New Brunswick.
