My experience with this body shop has been great (in particular with customer service manager Sue Yeung) when I've brought my car in for rear-ends caused by other drivers. Twice she's taken care of me.

Well now...I was the cause of a major $16k accident to my car <read thread> <a href="http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=23504">Back in the Saddle</a> and boy they performed magic on my car. They mostly work on high end vehicles so they were familiar with an M3.

Just giving my experience of this shop: Platinum Auto Refinish & Collision Center (4065 Glencoe Ave. Marina del Rey, California).

Gio's right. I'm dealing with Platinum at the moment and they are a 5 star shop.

I'm just getting a couple things tidyed up. I'll let you know the final results soon.

Gio, good to see you back. I've also been to Platinum and agree they are awesome.

PS. those MXX3's SUCK in the wet. I almost did the same thing when I had them. Same situation, first rain in a while, made a turn and the rear starts comming around. The AVS are pretty nice but a little noisy (but not more than the MXX3). They are probably the best tire for the money. I got some Pilot Sports now and like them alot but they cost almost TWICE as much.

Hey aus what's up? We got meet up in person someday (hopefully at Bimmerfest). Yes from what I hear the MXX3s are not good in the wet but not only was it slick wet out, my tires were balding ( not a good combo). But I'll either get the Bridgestone's S-03s or the Yokohama AVS Sports.

Are the Pilot Sports better than the MXX3s in the wet?

The Pilot Spors are definitely better in the wet. I had the AVS for a while too and they're better in the wet as well. The main thing I like about the Pilot Sports is they're a little less noisy compared to the MXX3's and AVS, which are both kinda loud. The SO-3's will be my next tire. Just to try them out. They have pretty interesting technologywith that dual compound. Good luck and stay away from those accidents.

Got my car back from Platinum. Excellent work.

My car looks brand new.

They did take a little longer than we originally discussed, but only to make sure everything was on point.

Enough computer B.S. time to drive.

Glad to hear the car is back in action and in excellent condition. I'd rather them take the extra time needed than to rush it as was the same case with me.

Boy it felt good getting back into the saddle after 3 and a half months. Can't wait to see the car Jay at Bimmerfest in April up in Santa Barbara.
