View Full Version : Wish Me Luck!
///MZG 07-22-2004, 01:31 PM After the hot water heater incident and the subsequent fallout of said event. I have decided to move.
The real catalyst was the fact that my building owner was going to simply dry-out the carpet and reinstall, rather than install new. Also, he was not going to do anything to address the water damaged walls.
I was already planning on moving-in with my GF at the end of August, so on a whim I called the manager of the building I was hoping to get into in August. It was my lucky day! They had one of the exact units that I wanted available 8/4. 2 bed, 2 bath, 6th (top) floor, view, secured parking, and all for a very fair price. We are signing the paperwork today.
So, I made a deal with my building owner that I would be out by Sunday night, and get back a week's rent. Only thing that sucks is the 10 days of being a nomad. Oh well, I can live in the M if I have to . . .
BimmerDawg 07-22-2004, 01:35 PM Jew gonna rent the new place or buy?
Ron17 07-22-2004, 01:38 PM Jew gonna rent the new place or buy?
No, I'm pretty sure he's going to have to pay full price.
BimmerDawg 07-22-2004, 01:39 PM No, I'm pretty sure he's going to have to pay full price.
:rofl:
Sparc_it 07-22-2004, 01:42 PM No, I'm pretty sure he's going to have to pay full price.
Hahaha, that was a good one
///MZG 07-22-2004, 01:42 PM oh, jeez . . .
unfortunatley, renting :(
This will be our first step towards bigger and better things. We will be saving almost 600 a month that we plan on putting into a joint account so we can buy within one year.
bcart1991 07-22-2004, 02:11 PM Hurry up, before interest rates get much higher than they are right now.
///MZG 07-22-2004, 02:14 PM I know, I know :(
12:03 07-22-2004, 03:35 PM Joint acct???
:confused:
ummm...
:nono
///MZG 07-22-2004, 03:39 PM I thought you liked joints?
Probably won't actually get a joint account. but, we intend to save-up for a house together. Yikes.

<--same boat here. I just signed the lease on my new house (rental), 3br, 2.5ba and 2car $1090. I plan on buying before my 1yr lease is up.
Don't worry too much about interest rates....they're still lower than a few years ago and I don't see them jumping that much in a year. Granted it won't be as good as 6 months ago, but still not bad (15 year low maybe).
Congrats.
VANCE 07-22-2004, 04:26 PM good luck
Doctor Wha 07-22-2004, 04:32 PM Good luck, sport. I gotta say though, if you look in the right places, and if your credit isn't entirely in the can, you can buy a house for basically what you're paying in rent. Don't be afraid to jump in and start looking.
Loan apps tend to like it a little better if you're married, though...
But good luck, in any case!

12:03 07-22-2004, 04:42 PM maybe just break up and consider yourself a lucky man
bcart1991 07-22-2004, 05:03 PM My credit is far from the best and I got a 100% loan at 6.125% (fixed rate) last May.
Look around. It might surprise you.

///MZG 07-22-2004, 05:12 PM thanks for the words of wisdom guys. I have looked around and am aware of the good deals that are out there right now. We want to live together for a little while before we make that committment.
The only other problem, is that round my parts, you can't get anything good for under 300k :(
12:03 has forbidden me to get married, so that is out of the question . . .
Ron17 07-22-2004, 05:12 PM And if she ever sleeps with your boss:

Section8 07-23-2004, 10:38 AM Anything below 7% is awesome. Wasn't that many years ago that 12-14% was the norm.. (or maybe it was and I'm just getting old)
I got in at 6.25 on ours, just 2 days before it went to 6.5.. (whew)
Closing next Wednesday, glad to finally pay for my own lodging, instead of forking it over to someone else.
