This thing works awesome! Had Kit (from Lidatek) fly in to DC to install it for me. (j/k but he did install it for me) He brought his LIDAR (laser speed gun thingy) with him and we shot my car in different angles and in different road conditions. The LE-30 worked flawlessly! This little device is amazing. It jammed the laser gun with Error codes and it got no speed readings on me from 800', 500', 300', 100', 50', 25', 10'. The LED was flashing and the alarm was blasting with warnings that I was getting hit.

If you are a speeder, this thing is a MUST have. I'm putting it on all my street bikes, Porsche, SUV and any other vehicle I get. A product that works fabulously.

Nice! How much did you pay for it and how much would installation run?

Say you are the only one on the road and he tags you and gets an error on his LIDAR. I would think that would raise some flags with a cop. Who knows...

Sounds cool though...

He may still give you a ticket, but since he's not pacing you on the road and he doesn't have proof on EXACTLY how fast you were going, you have a much better chance of beating the ticket.

I kind of recall some article about the legalities of these scrambling devices from several years ago when they had radar jammers out. I can see how yes, you still might get nailed but without an actual reading, you can get out of it. But I wonder how the odd "failure" of the device would come into play or if even the law can use that to their advantage.

Maybe Garrett or James and chime in on this one.

I HATE laser just because you are fcuked when you get tagged. period.

There isn't anything they can do in a state where it's legal (MD). Now in DC/VA I would imagine they would have cause to pull you over...what is the penalty for having a radar detector in VA?

Hey guys,

Sorry for the late replies. The unit is a laser echo. It "echos" back a mixed laser signal which LIDAR cannot understand and it does not allow a speed reading only a distance reading. This allows enough time to slow down before the LIDAR hits you again.

The unit goes undetected from a tracking device point of view. The police cannot read that you have sucha device. If the LIDAR is pointed out of range by a 1" (example) it will not hit your car from a designated distance. An error code can occur or a distance reading appears but no indicated speed. :)

This unit is so small and incognito that it is really "invinsible" to the untrained eye.You really have to look for it and know what the hell you are looking for.

If you guys want I can install them on your BMW or motorcycle. They are really easy and the bimmers especially. You do not have to get them from Lidatek, I have some if you are local. I think Lidatek just raised their price to $399.00/unit.
