Has anyone experienced these types of problems? In addition, has the cam positioning sensor and EGT sensor thrown faults?

Kevin -

Did you only throw misfire codes then in the cylinders, or did you throw other codes? Feel free to pm me. I would just like more information on when you experienced the malfunction ... was it at higher rpm's ... lower rpm's ... near redline, etc.

Thanks!

p.s. -- did the upgrade improve throttle response for you? Did the car feel different after it?

Whenever I used Amoco (now BP) gas, I'd get a hesitation around the 5000rpm area... wouldn't happen with Mobil or Chevron . One day I was hanging around the service bay and they hooked me up to the computer... binfo, misfire fault stored in memory.

They yanked my old plugs and put the new ones in. The car felt no different, but it doesn't have that hesitation/ping around 5000rpm anymore.

What do you think? Sideskirts are being completed -- rear is on there ... no rear shots ... you can barely see the roof spoiler in the top pic

Whoa... you're so low  What's your ride height? Or is the car just cornering so much it looks like it's touching the ground?

The front bumper looks cool... that a Tornado front bumper?

I had this problem about 6 weeks ago. Awful. Car ran fine with some spirited driving at 9:00 pm on Friday night, turned it off ate dinner and went back out for drive home (about 150 miles). Car started, check engine light came on and it started running rough. Thought it might need to warm up some, so took it out to the main road (about 1.5 miles away) still running very rough. Turned it off and restarted a couple of times. No dice. Took the car back to friends house and called BMW. The tech called and explained the results of the bad coil - said it went bad in one cylinder so gas was running through that cylinder without combustion. Sensors in exhaust manifold picked up the unburned fuel and leaned out the other cylinders to compensate. So I had 30% power from 5 cylinders and 0% power from one. I've never heard an engine sound worse.
