I want to get imola red leather with the black cloth inserts. I could have sworn that I saw this at the autoshow. I really like the cloth but I also really like the red as well. Anyone know or ever done this before??

That "cloth" was probably Alcantara. It's expensive. Some dealers can get you two tone interior, but it's some extra cash. The car you saw may have been an aftemarket job. It's pretty common now.

Let me warn you that alcantara does not hold up as well as leather (even leather as soft as nappa leather).

In Germany through the "BMW Individual Program" you can order any combo you want. In theory a U.S. dealer can do the same. Problem is most don't know, don't understand or won't go to the trouble. In addition if you do find a dealer willing to work with you it is likely they will require an additional deposit as they view this as a risk, ordering an unusually spec'd car that they could get "stuck" with. When I order my car no options other than SMG and Estoril the manager was very nervous.

One last thing, it will definitely cost you.

how much did it cost you to get estoril? i always loved that color and hoped that they would put it on the e46's. but they didnt, and i didnt know about this program until after i ordered my car, of course
