Hey guys
Well in august i will be moving from North Carolina to attend the University of Colorado At Boulder
I own a 96 Cosmos black M3 coupe and i have been debating bringing it with me
Its too late to bring it with me in august but i was thinking of bringing it after christmass.
The question for you CU students; would it be worth it to bring the car to Colorado?
One thing is sure is i am sure going to miss driving it :(
thanks

Bring it no question. Winters here are not anywhere as bad as what people think they are. I moved here from CA, thinking I'd park my car all winter, but actually drive it year round with summer tires. There are only about 10 days/year that I don't drive it because there is snow on the road.

I would rent a garage though. Parking a nice car at the dorms (assuming you are a freshman) is just asking for trouble.

that was what i was thinking to rent a garage. Ill be staying in the dorms, Williams village, and i think the permit would be 500 per smester.
so ill have to look into the garage thing...

Definetly bring it out, though i am so sorry you are living in Will Vill... I lived there last year and it SUCKED so you REALLY want a car. I wouldn't worry about anyone messing with it however. There was an Oetinger (spelling?) Audi A4 that parked outside in the Will Vill lot and no one messed with it, also a couple S4s and stuff. I thought parking was only $250 a semester...

If you look at the CU Boulder Police crime statistics, you'll see that car theft/vandalism happens more than you might think.

All it takes is one drunken idiot to completely f-up your car.... I wouldn't risk it personally.

Will Vill is good for Air Conditioning...... that is all, what building are you in? Other than that Will Vill sucks because of being off campus you have to to ride the F-ing buff bus to class everyday. Also, if you want to go to any parties you have to ride the buff bus to those too, and it stops at 3am thursday-saturday so its almost like a curfew unless you want to walk all the way back. However, they were doing a ton of renovations there as I was leaving (new furniture, new dining hall, new rec center) so it might be kick ass now.

Im in stearns west
They did say that they were doing alot of work in it and that the new rec center will be open in the fall
it is going to suck having to take the buss all the time

Take it out one day in the mountains and you will know why we are telling you to bring it. That is what driving these cars is all about. We also do quite a few drives together out here.

You should def. bring it. Would really recommend a garage, it is not worth it to risk it. Our winters are pretty mild actually only a couple days when you cant drive like said above. You also will miss not having a car at school, its a pain to have to rely on others and not have as much freedom as you would like.

Just for your info though, the drive from NC to CO SUCKS!!! I drove my car out there to go to college and then back in May and it had to be 3 of the most boring days of my life. And a sidenote, watch out for the Kansas State Patrol, they hide well and just wait for you.
