Just wanted to pass along a good place to buy these from. Performance Peddler (http://search.stores.ebay.com/search/search.dll?st=2&fp=0&colorid=0&store=Performance+Peddler&sid=10179333&srchdesc=y&query=94005&submit0=Search) on eBay sells them for 57.69 (each) shipped.

I have seen slightly better prices elsewhere but the thing that really impressed me was that I ordered them last Saturday morning and paid immediately. I had a tracking number sent to me less than three hours later and they arrived Wednesday. The seller even took the time to leave feedback - which it seems is beneath 99% of the sellers on ebay these days.

The other thing I liked which had nothing to do with the seller is that Magnaflow puts a nice big OBDII compatible sticker on the box - I can't see how a cat wouldn't be compatible but it does at least make me feel a little bit at ease about putting a part on that costs 5% of the one BMW says I need to use.

Now I just need to find a welding artiste to get them on the car.

Would you have any idea what kind of increase hp or torque over the oem cats?
Do let me know how you get on with your cats!

No idea - but if you'll send me your G-Tech, I'll take before and after runs to check it out :D If I hadn't just bought the MkIV drive I might actually be able to convince my wife I need to buy a G-Tech but I think it'll have to wait a month or so before trying that one out on her. We'll have to see what the butt dyno detects.

Good question - when I had searched over there to see what they do it was like looking into a black hole. They talk about exhausts a lot but they all seem to ignore the cats.

I had a 1998 540i 6spd right before this 740il. I ran Magnaflows, resonator delete, and REMUS. Best sounding car ever.

I am doing 53005's and REMUS on my 740il. I expect similar results.

??Have you ever really looked into a black hole? :nono

I have had my Remus installed for about 1K miles but it has already gotten a little louder which is fine. I really hope that settles there but it does have a nice deep tone. I am very pleased overall. :buttrock

I had IPD's or TME dual exhaust from Swedon on my '98 Volvo R turbo - took it off and went back to stock. It sounded terrible and had a very annoying droning at most high way speeds. :(
