Note to self: when detailing, make sure you know what your doing:bawl:

Since I'm selling my car I was going to try and get it looking top-notch. So I thought I would try and fix up and buff the rock chips on the hood. I read the how-to in Bimmer magazine.... but I tried it myself today..

I washed it down, touched up the paint, used 1500 grit Sandpaper to fine it down, and tried to buff it out but the stinkin buffer won't even get rid of the sanding marks.... Is 2/3hp buffer strong enough????

Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this work??? What am I doing wrong? I wet-sanded it down lightly, but how do I get the sanding swirls out of the paint?? and what kind of cover should I be using on the buffer??

Thanks,
Colin

BTW. Meguiars Scratch-X, scratch remover works miracles

use meguirs #2, or 3M Fine Cut cleaner, then meguirs #9, that shoud get it out, also, use different covers each time...
