I'm totally forgetting everything. I forgot I was supposed to dress up today at work because of a photo shoot we are having. Here I am in a polo shirt and shorts.

Alpine, Ne oublie pas.... (my best attempt)

If one of you giuy's wants to come in to Toronto Brullen can do a custom kit, possibly including high flow cat (for the person who comes to T.O.- welding is required)....

You may get a discount for getting 2 @ once. I was going to let him copy the one he did for me for Hugo, but Hugo didn't finalize the deal.

Do a google search for him, tell him Bill with the Blue Z3 (ADD Communications, our phone system div.) sent you. Ask for Richard Garcia, not Jerry.

I love to bake :)

Kneading bread helps me work out oall my frustrations.

As for toppings, I'm more of a cherry girl than a raisin girl :D

Seriously though, baking is at home chemistry --right mixes of everything, add a little art and you get something nice. A couple years ago I made a 3 tier white cake with hazelnut butter cream and chocolate cutouts for my birthday. Lots of frustration to work out there...

The only reason why I don't like to bake, is because I hate to measure. Cooking is more of a creative process for me, and I can go with the flow and invent something completely different and origional.

I can make most anything right now, but I have a really hard time with mashed potatoes. The potatoes always end up too soft or too hard before they are mashed and the texture is always off. I've tried numerous times to fix them, but they still come out screwed up.

Well, here's what I do....
Big vat, 6 or so russets, boil. Periodically check by poking with a fork. When the potato no longer resists penetration it's ready!

Run cold water ver them as you peel of most of the outer layer and chunk them up into 3 or 4 pieces each.

Then dump into a Kitchenaid mixer and put on setting 3 or 4. Add cream. Not milk, not half and half, good 'ol 42% fat heavy whipping cream. Add it slowly until you start to see the texture change --then start adding your salt and pepper to taste as it mixes, the potatoes will absorb the cream and expand so careful to not add too much or you'll end up with liquid.

The key to mashed tatoes is to listen to what they're telling you...:D

bellavus
07-08-2004, 03:02 PM
I will try that the next time I make mashed potatoes. If you need any chicken, italian or asian recipies, I'll be happy to send some your way, I have a ton of recipies.

You guys talking about food is making me hungry! I had the shittiest lunch at work today. Cause I woke up late for work with a hang over so i just threw cheese on bread and left. And then I almost feel asleep during a meeting. But then i got revitalized cause they started fighting about some stupid bullshit so I was laughin my ass off and had to exuse myself.

Well anyway back to the cooking (Again excuse my rambling)

We just got a new BBQ and it has one of those electric starters, and I didnt know the propane was on.....

Lol i just found out the two people that were fighting are dating!!

ok so yeah make a long story short my hair was on fire and I had to jump in the pool. At least i saved money on a hair cut cause it took off a good half inch lol

NO MULLETS!!! I've seen way too many of them since moving out to Colorado Springs. If you're going to have the messy bed head hair, it has to be soft and touchable. Not the hair-cicles that stand straight up and don't move. That only really works on very short hair (around 1/8 of an inch)

SilverStreak

well i just got home from the dealers and wow i have a great story

So they check codes to find out that i need a new seatbelt tensioner (180) but while i was there i was talking to the detailing guy about waxing my car and he tells me they want to try out this new wax they got and he would do it for free as the tester car when he is done washing it. Of course i said sure go right a head i dont mind at all, so he washes and wax's the car and i am all happy. Then he tells me how he is a photographer and goes to the tracks to take pic's on track days, he shows me some of his work and then asks me if i would mind if he took pics of my car since it was clean for his portfolio. I said sure go for it, he took pics all over the place for about an hour, when he was done i asked if i could have one since i dont have any pics of my car yet, so he told me he would burn a CD with all the pics and give it to me for letting him use my car.

So tomorrow i hope to pick them up and post some for all to see. :)

Coles notes, got bad news 180 to fix the car, but got a free wax and photo shoot:)

Sometimes things get pretty intense in the mouseroom and I have to like, devote all my attention to them and stuff. Then sometimes I get motivated and start doing all kind of biochemistry with pretty colored liquids. But mostly I just sit around and surf Bf.c :stickoutt

In my lab we're looking at the roles of particular receptors in fat metabolism --the little mousies get a 60% fat diet (ie McDonalds) so they get all chubby and then we do stuff to 'em. We just found a new gene with a nifty little product too ---but shhhhhh! We don't want to get scooped!

Basically, my job is to look the the Lock and cylinder making process and see if we can get our cycle times (amount of time that it takes to make the product) down. Right now, I'm working on Schlage's largest volume and most variable lock assembly line and seeing if changing the line layout will reduce our cycle times down.

Sounds fun doesn't it ;)

Oh i got a story, some idiot tried to fight me at my friends wedding on the weekend. No one is to sure why, but i went to check on his date who was crying in the corner (at the time just some girl crying in the cornor) and i talked to her, cheered her up, got her a drink and idle chit chat for about 10 mins. Then her date came in and started to yell at me, i looked at him and told him to relax. He said lets go out side and talk about this, so i followed him and two of his friends outside. (not the smartest thing to do) So we get outside and he starts to yell at me, and i explained what was going on to him so he figured that since i was alone him and his two buddies would start to fight. Grr i was so mad when the at this point, no way i was about to win this, so i stand there looking for my escape route. Damn it there is one, I am so screwed, i turn to look at the door and there is a few of my friends watching everthing go down. I stand there and look at them, and they finally decide to come out. This guy all of the sudden gets really quite and no longer wants to fight, so i was like WTF 3 on 1 you are all game, but 6 on 3 and you dont want any........... (notice how tough i get when i have a slight advantage to not eating baby food for 6 months thru a straw) So, i tell the guy that he should be more concerned with his date and less concerned with me. We had a quick chat and off he went to find his date, my buddies just laughed at me and noted how dumb i was to go out on my own. By the time we made it back to the reception this guy was no where to be found, neither was his date, so we went on with the drinking.

Some how i talked a server into giving me two bottles of wine for my walk home, which a friend and i shared, and the 30 min walk took nearly two hours.

Sunday i didn't get out of bed.

not bad
Ok i got a good story from last nite

My friend of 15 years just got back from Europe. I have always had a thing for her, like for the past 2 years, she is drop dead gorgeous and she is really cool. Well anyway before she left for a month and a half she had a boyfriend, he was an a-hole, but i knew they would break up while she was there. Anyway she went on the trip with two other guys, and knowing her she was gonna hook up with one of them. I was right when she got back she was dating one of them. :( . Well anyway i can still wait, but party in the mean time.

Ok now to the good part.
So we went to a bar and she invited 5 of her girlfriends. SO there i am one guy sitting with five girls, i either looked like a pimp or a homo. I like to think i looked like a pimp. ANyway we all started drinking and then this huge yatch pulls up to the docks, which is right in front of the bar. A huge group of older people come out, mostly men. They come off the boat and come straight to our table, because of the girls i am with. These guys are asking me how I do it, and then they ask the girls if I have origies with them. Of course they say yes (but it isnt true) again :( .. Poor Aj.

K so this one guy sits with us, he is drunk out of his mind and then he buys drinks for the hole table. And if he saw a glass that was empty he would get more drinks. It was great. ANd then they guy starts popping viagra, like the real pill i saw it wil my own eyes. So after an hour or so i think this guy is walking around with a hardone. It was the funniest thing i have ever seen in the world.
Anyway we speant the rest of the night just drinking then i went home

but that is my story for the weekend :buttrock
