ok... since my driveshaft broke... i was thinking about this being a good time for a tranny swap. what parts would i need? estimated prices? (i was qouted at 1200$ for a driveshaft install and thats why im considering just swapping the whole tranny right now) either give me some info or try to talk me out of it! if my auto tranny is 180k years old, how many years or months do you think are left on it?

Metric Mechanic sells conversion kits.

Not cheap, though. I'd look for the parts at a BMW salvage yard or local import yard.

I have a few trannies over here that you could look into shipping.
But that adds another $500-800 and is just not worth it IMO.

?? It does not cost $500-800 to ship a tranny. Maybe $200 if you get raped. Maybe.
