Can these be purchased at a standard auto parts store or do I have to go to the dealer? I just bought a certified 01 X5 a couple months back and the left brake light went out - I am assuming this is not an warranty item.

yes i believe so, just check autozones or pepboys. get some phillip silvervision lightbulb if you have the sportpackage clear/red taillights.
