ok i am tired of being ass raped by A&E performance. they charge ~ 150$ / hr for labor and i just cant afford to pay that for the "little things". Does anyone else in the bay area know of a good shop that wont empty my wallet just on labor?

Are you looking for a shop to do regular service stuff or are you looking for a performance shop?

Try Edge Motorworks in Dublin or GMS in Sunnyvale if you dont want to drive that far.

How about Motorspeed West in Santa Clara (near the SJC airport)? I've never been there but my friend loves them. I'm going to try them out for my next service.

Dynospot Racing in San Jose installed my springs/shocks. Dick is a very friendly guy.

lol I go to A & E also. Their prices are pretty good but for little things you are much better just doing them yourself.

you might want to try Scott Parker Motorsports in Pleasanton, he's pretty cheap $90 bucks an hour which isn't to bad and has never ripped me off, my mom or ne of my friends. or as m3n said edgemotorworks in dublin

A&E is by far the best shop i have ever used, but they are very expensive... and because they charge ~ 2x for the parts and dont let you bring your own parts it kinda sucks... does anyone have experience with "the driving machine"... my car broke down about a 300 ft from their shop and i kinda rolled it into there.

German Motor Specialist in Sunnyvale was pretty reasonable I think. Their website is www.bmwspecialist.com

Just for the record, I take my M3 to Motorspeed West in Santa Clara for maintainance I don't feel like doing (i.e. stuff under the car). They are good guys, do a great job and the price is right also.

MID European Auto off of Lawrence Expessway & Reed Avenue. Contact Zoran the owner, he's an A+ guy. Very competitive pricing. Uses all OEM BMW parts from Allison BMW. He charges around $75/hour (less for me :) )and warranties all of his work. PM me if you wanna give him a shot, I can give him a call for you.

call my guy Chris a call at T&L Muffler in Union City. and no, he's not just a muffler guy. He used to have his business in Newark, called Elite Auto, but moved to this place in Union City since it's bigger. He might change the name later. He'll quote you over the phone. tell him Ian sent you (510) 489-8756

Give us a shout, our parts prices are great and we are at $85/hour so we beat your current shop by a large margin. Plus we are enthusiast owned and we only work on enthusiasts' cars.
