Okay, whenever I start my car the OBC says LOW COOLANT, and it disapears after 10 sec. and then after I turn off my engine, it says it again!
I added lots of Coolants these days, (didn't flush it yet and I should) but OBC message keeps on appearing..
I need to know what might cause this. Will it be bacause of the Waterpump? or Gasket?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Maybe a bad radiator cap, replace that first. You can have any decent shop pressure check the system for leaks. Those are my guesses.

If not, could be a head gasket. Do you smoke at all?

no, it does not smoke. I guess I have to take it to the dealer or some mechanic for it. Or I can do it by myself at my school :)

at AutoZone or Kragen. Worth a shot. Maybe start with the cap if you haven't done it before. Probably something stupid. Good luck!

hmmm cap? what do you mean? I closed it really tight and the coolants seems to disapearing. It might be my imagination but I smelled something, smelling like coolant burning.

I think I get you in that pressure checking stuff. I didn't read the subject :) I will go check it tomorrow thanks

or it could be the heater core. If that sucker is leaking, its a pain in the ass. Check everywhere in the hoses for leaks. Can you smell coolant inside the car, if so it may be the core

If I open my door, Yes I can smell something but unless I close it, no. But my power steering fluid tube is leaking. I should change that also.

Hoses. Not really anything to worry about, I wouldn't be in a ruch to fix it. Sounds like your coolant prob is in the engine bay somewhere. Take your time, you'll find it!

Man! MAJOR LEAK@!!!!
I was driving this morning and I see green liquids dripping off my car! I lost 1/3 of my coolants. It's in the shop right now. I think it might be the hoses but not sure. What would happen if my waterpump cracks? does it leak? I hope it's not the waterpump.

and only like $50 from the Ultimate Garage.

If its hoses, no prob either

The mechanic just called me and he says he won't be able to fix it until Monday. He says he needs to take the radiator out and then take a look at it. sounds not right. what should I do? I still have some time to take my car back and just fix it by myself and takes about 5 hours.

i have the exact same problem - started two days ago. My water pump is 2 months old so that probably is not it. I'll check the cap and look for hoses or leaks but i'm not in the mood for a repair bill right now.

FYI. www.bimmerparts.com - Water pumps for 35 bucks.

I had the same problem and I had to change the radiator later because it appeared to have a very tiny hole where water evaporates through.
Take care of this problem asap cuz it might have many side effects:)
