I just traded in the IS300 for a 01 topaz blue/dove gray 2 tone with 45k miles X5....

I pick the car up tomorrow and will take pics of it then, the only thing that the car does not have that I wanted was navigation and was wondering if anyone has any links on instructions and what parts are needed to complete a retrofit.....

congrats. I can't help you with the nav part, but it might be worth looking to some aftermarket nav companies like Alpine.

just curious, if you don't mind me asking, what motor, and what did you end up paying for the car?

And what did you get for the is300?

it came out to a little over 20 with the tax credit, btw the IS only has 28k miles and is in MINT condition, every option and is still under factory warranty .....

You're not really missing anything on the factory Nav. I think you can get a nicer aftermarket one for that price. After a trip to Cali with my gf's 04 TL with Nav, I realize how useless BMWs Nav really is. If I had to do all over again I would get a aftermarket one.

Anyways Congrats on the new purchase, you're gonna love it :D. Just remember when you are in the canyons that you are driving a 5000lb suv, the X5 tends to make you think you are driving a sports car. :stickoutt

I already have a kenwood kvt-910 with navigation on my 97 M3 and if I cant find a cheap place to get the oem navigation, I will install the kvt in to the X5....the real reason I like the oem navigation is cause of the clean factory look

btw I have not had a chance to take pics of it but real soon, I have to take it to the dealer on tuesday my rear passanger window came of the track....
