wow.. that SRT-4 driver isn't too good..

Thats what I was thinking.... people in the crowd were expecting these cars to totally OWN.. (if you look carefully you'll notice that there are 2 diff. yellow SRT's both with apparantly slow drivers?) :embarrasm

ah well...
No shame in just barely killing a VW golf (which otherwise looks stock) I guess?

Oh, I think I might have a few other STR-4 vidz from Friday night for you SRT-4 fans..

At race wars, SRTs were taking over.. most were running low 14s in stock form, the modded ones were low-mid 13s and there was one running 11s and 12s

In fact, if you can host a 9mb files, I've got a vid of two modded SRTs running against each other, each with a different T3/T4 upgrade.

Thanks for sharing!

Was that SRT-4 driver fixing his hair or something? 14.7 is not anything to be proud of in that car

I loved the M5 'Gorilla-launch'

BMW#1 and HotBlonds--where do you live? If you're in America surely there's a strip around? it's un-American to have a town without a strip within a 15 mile radius!

Remember, this track is at 4500 ft above sea level. That 14.9 becomes a low 14 to 13 at sea level.

Thanks Baby

The SRT-4 drivers were checking out all the girlz.
the M5 video I couldn't keep straight because it was over so fast and everyone in front of me stood up LOL...
It was a fun night.
I have some video of that M5 vs. an '04 SRT-4 which I'm sure is going to create a stir....

GTI 1.8T with a turbo upgrade

Ya, it was a 1.8t. however, it was a mkIII, meaning it was a 150hp stock motor.

Turbo upgrade? No. Chip? No. At least not a reputable one. Chipping a stock 1.8t puts the car into high 13's. The driver knew at least a little about driving... Or at least launching the car. I don't know how they accurately measured the 1/8th time, but for the srt4 it was 8.7 sec. Stock 1.8t's can have pulled as quick as 8.0's. Yes, the gti was ahead of the srt4, but not by half a second.

The turbo spooling was more than likely the srt4. However, it could've been an intake on the gti, but, seeing as that has a k03 turbo, the spool more than likely came from the srt4. k03's don't really whizz. k03 sports have a slight whizz (that's the turbo on the 180hp models... k03 housing, k04 compressor).

oo - not a turbo upgrade on the gti, because the APR Stage III is the *least* powerful upgrade on the market. APR Stage III cars run mid 12's, all day long. ATP packages put them at low-to-mid 12's. Backyard Tuning has a turbo package available... 450-480 at the wheels, depending on boost. no traction in all 5 gears. no traction in first 3 with slicks. :stickoutt

i'm kinda confused by what you're saying...wouldn't stages II and I be less powerful than a stage III upgrade? or do you mean that stage III is the least powerful APR upgrade that replaces the stock turbo?

my friend has a mkIV jetta 1.8T w/ chip (MTM i think) and exhaust, and he runs a 14.0 in the cold winter air.

Are you sure about those 1/8 times? There is no way a stock 1.8t will pull a 8 flat. The standard conversion factor for 1/8-1/4 times is 1.59. 8.0*1.59= 12.72 1/4 mile. I also doubt the SRT-4 ran a 8.7 1/8 mile and ended up with a 14.7 1/4. Stock I hit a 9.155 1/8 and ended up with a 14.078 1/4. Unless he was on DR's and then let off at the end, I don't see how that is possible in a stock car.
