On the parked thread it suggests to use:

chenille/cotton Viking wash mitts to wash your car.

I saw the chenille wash mits at target and they didn't seem that soft. They were not viking.

I just got the microfiber sponge. Someone told me they are pretty safe against scratches.

Any feedback on that? Does anyone use microfiber sponges?

Basically a sponge wrapped in Mircofiber towel.

I watched a guy dry clean his black nissan with micro fbr towels. Could not believe what I saw. He said his brother got them from internet, much better than Wal-mart.
These towels appeared to be pretty dam safe!

About the microfiber sponge, i have used it and what I like about it is the fact that after washing a section of the car, quickly rinsing it off cleans it completely, it does not hold anything you took of the car.

The wash mits take a little longer to rinse and tends to hold onto some of the particles you just took off the car.

Obviously, the particles on the sponge/mit is what will scratch your car.

The problem with the microfiber "sponge" is that it doesn't have the long pile that a good chenille or sheepskin mit will have, meaning it will hold the grit closer to the paint surface. I'm sure if you rinse it often enough you'll be fine, but for me a sheepskin wash mit is the only way to go.

I used the sponge. Worked great.

Microfiber is the way to go.

I prefer the wool mitts, the pile actually keeps a lot of the debris from scratching the car

When you buy wool mit does it matter what brand you get. Or you get any wool mit?
