View Full Version : Canadian Beer
StouffvilleZ3 06-24-2004, 04:47 PM Ain't it great!
My favorite is Bleu Dry, only sold in La Belle Province (Quebec) at every local depanneur (variety store).
I wish Ontario had depanneurs with Bleu Dry :(
What kind of beer do you guys drink?
(Anything with light isn't quite a beer)
Gary-TulZa 06-24-2004, 04:49 PM Heineken is actually my favorite, but since this is the Canadian forum I'll go with LaBatt's Blue, or Molsen Canadian...
Hey Hugo, PM us some 'o dat Bleu Dry that Bill's talking about...
StouffvilleZ3 06-24-2004, 04:56 PM It's good stuff,
Hiene's are prety good too.
You should try Alexander Keiths if you get a chance.
It's Bleue Dry, beer is a feminine noun.
I prefer Bleue.
Moose head

Gary-TulZa 06-25-2004, 09:18 AM How's Fin Du Monde? I'll take a barrel of that as well...
Fin du Monde is very good stuff. Means «End of the World».
Fin du Monde
Never heard of this, Quebec only??
Gary-TulZa 06-25-2004, 12:39 PM "End of the world" huh?

Doubles, Trippels, Trappist? Which one Dave?
My favorite is Duvel right now...
When I went to Belgium & had a chance to live off of Belgian Ale I thought I had died & went to Heaven...
Belgium beer is like "not of this Earth" !!! :buttrock
Right on. Belgian beers are great. And their fries, and their chocolate...
Rodenbach, Orval, Chimay Rouge, Mort Subite, Bière du démon, Leffe brune... aaah, memories!!!
SilverStreak 06-25-2004, 03:00 PM Right now, I'm hooked on the Chimay Grand Reserve, comes in a 23 oz bottle with it's own cork...

Ahh yes, a Double...
The weird thing about Belgians is that they do what's called an "open fermentation" process where they actually open the "brite tanks" at night & let the wild airborn yeast settle on the brew... That (along with the special yeasts they use) is what gives it that funky flavor...
ONe rule about drinking Belgian beer, never drink the last little bit that contains yeast sediment. It can make you sick...
Have I aver mentioned that I'm a badass brewer myself? I won a placing for my "Crank Case Stout" in a local brew contest... :alright
StouffvilleZ3 06-25-2004, 03:51 PM Jeez, you guys are conneseurs (sp?), I just drink a tonne of it....

From the looks of things, you,re gonna have to start producing another intoxicating product shortly, huh?
SilverStreak 06-25-2004, 04:05 PM Gary's Summer Brew.... :D
Gary-TulZa 06-25-2004, 04:37 PM The Stout was really more of a Winter brew, nice & thick with a whopping punch...
I have brewed a nice Heffe Weise that reminded me more of a Sam Adams Summer ale though. I need to get a batch of that going I guess...
Sure Hugo, only sunshine, water, dirt, time, and the right seeds could help me out of my "outtage" diemna... :(
StouffvilleZ3 06-28-2004, 03:52 PM You've got an outtage....
I've got a line on a parts supplier that ships out on Montreal. Not to sure about the cross border stuff though....

I don't doubt it, my good man, but could take you parts talk to PM? There are supporting vendors for this forum, you know... :stickoutt
StouffvilleZ3 06-28-2004, 04:49 PM He won't go there Gary...... the "duties" are too high, sorry.
Our supporting vendor's will have to help out with your warm air intake. :D
