View Full Version : Wax as you dry
dinomite 06-24-2004, 02:21 PM Has anyone tried that "Wax As You Dry" product that has been advertised on TV recently? I was thinking of using it between real waxing.
Also, has anyone used the Mr. Clean Auto-dry thing?
DeanP 06-24-2004, 05:14 PM I use it. Works OK. Use spareingly though and don't use the same towels for the windows. It makes real mess.
318qship 06-24-2004, 07:36 PM IT works pretty good , i did not think it would work at all. Use microfiber clothes.
Ryan328i 06-24-2004, 07:36 PM It does work decent and is very eay to use. I don't spray it on my windows, though. I just mist the panels and then dry it with a chamois like I usually would. It has a nice shine to it when youre done.

timsev 06-24-2004, 10:37 PM it's all crap. all of it. just wax your car normally, and if it looks like it needs wax, then it most likely does. don't just cover it up. mr. clean sucks too. please search for this before asking.
EVOIIIM3 06-25-2004, 11:15 AM The stuff is just silicone. If you don't have wax on the car, or don't use a high quality wax it will work fine.
If you use good wax, the stuff will cause discolorations in the paint, and have some haze.
IMHO, the stuff is crap and not worth using! Just get some "speed Shine" or other quick detailer and dry with that.
///M3N 06-25-2004, 11:19 AM I use it between waxing and it works fine, the surface feels smooth.
littlelee1 06-25-2004, 11:33 AM I tried to Mr. CLean auto car dry, it's ok, gets rid of some hard water spots but you still have to dry a bit. It's like washing your car in the middle of the day, water dries up pretty quick but there is still some water left. It's not worth the money i believe, just wash your car right before sundown, my .02
BMW323iDude 07-08-2004, 02:25 AM If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Anywayz, Eagle One is crap.
Redlinemunk 07-08-2004, 12:21 PM I use wax as you dry and I love it. Its quick and easy, and it also looks great.

ajames 07-09-2004, 11:22 PM Wow ... you guys are either Hardcore Turtle Wax users or haven't tried the Eagle One WAUD. The Mr. Clean thing isn't my cup of tea. Give me a microfiber towel. I don't like the idea of what they have to use get it to dry by itself. Besides, by taking the head off my hose and letting the water sheet of my car ... it dries itself about 90% anyway. :D
Eagle One WAUD, is a great quick detailer if you dillute it to about 3:1 with water. So basically, imagine your just spraying on a little stronger quick detailer on your wet car and drying. The stuff is NOT crap. And it is a fact that several shampoos on the market for cars will increase the durability of a wax. Many of them increase shine as well. For example, with my Einszett Glanz Wax (great stuff) when used in conjunction with the 1Z Perlz shampoo ... it revives the shine and i've found it to keep the beading going strong.
If its time to wax, its time to wax ... period, you can tell by the beading of you car, but there's nothing wrong with using Eagle One WAUD inbetween to keep it looking its tops
And if WAUD would just be "covering up" the problem, i guess all quick detailers are just covering up the need for a wash and wax?
ps. Eagle One products are made in the USA ... sry, no rice. If you wanna call my car rice because its shineyer than yours? ... :buttrock be my guest
respectfully,
alex
toopercentmlk 07-11-2004, 04:10 PM wax as you dry is great, it not only leaves a great shine, it helps the car dry easier. kills all those places where you just KNOW you will have water spots no doubt, just lightly mist the area and i guess the stff breaks down the water makes it smoother and it drys nice, i just an Absorber type thing, just a cheap rip off version that works well.
