View Full Version : Favorite Canadian Whiskey?
Gary-TulZa 06-24-2004, 12:39 PM I LOVE Tangle Ridge & Wiser's very old...
What are other great Canadian whiskeys (Crown, CC, and the other common brands don't count)?
SilverStreak 06-24-2004, 01:14 PM Jameson? Is that Canadian?
SilverStreak 06-24-2004, 02:23 PM I used to like J&B, but that's Scotch, if I recall...
Gary-TulZa 06-24-2004, 03:07 PM Uhh yeah Dave, it's Scotch... A blend at that.
I'm talking SINGLE MALT here folks... :help
Gary-TulZa 06-24-2004, 04:22 PM Glenn Fiddich
A fine, fine single malt.
Also try Oban, Laugavulin, Talisker, Dalwhinnie, Glenkinchie, & Cragganmore (also know as the classic 6)!!!! :buttrock
But these are Scotch, from Scotland...
I was hoping that this thread could glean some CANADIAN whiskey...
Oh well, drink up!
StouffvilleZ3 06-24-2004, 04:28 PM Alberta premium... bet you hadn' though of that.
I like Crown and CC. Alberta Premium is what Julie's grandma's stuck on. We think she's drank and smoked enough that she actually preserved her own organs!
BabyM 06-24-2004, 11:39 PM I'm a Rummy girl....Does Canada make rum? :devillook
SilverStreak 06-25-2004, 08:19 AM I don't know my hard stuff very well, I rarely even read the label, just took a taste and if it tasted flammable, it was good by me... :D
Gary-TulZa 06-25-2004, 09:05 AM Not much sugar cane growing up north Josie...
Wow Dave, I never knew you were such a connisseuere! :biglaughb
SilverStreak 06-25-2004, 09:08 AM I was a full time rock musician, man... if it got me loaded, it worked... :D

Gary-TulZa 06-25-2004, 04:19 PM So Gary... what's best : licking a girl's fingers, or kissing your dogs? :D
When you're sober, neither...
Dark Helmet 06-29-2004, 01:35 AM so, red wine eh??? how dark are we talking... the $150 Pinot Noir Bren got me in Vegas, or something a little more plebian??? like the last 97 CdB Zin on the planet???
or just some low-rent Gallo of Sonoma Merlot??? I have a smokin Rioja left, and also a trio of bordeauxs, but the one that is really intriquing me is the 99 (?) CdB CabSav private reserve... hmmmm.
SilverStreak 06-29-2004, 07:06 AM Any red'll do for tonight, Jer... :D
Grrrrrrrr my kidneys better stop hurting by tonight, but at least i have a few storys from the stag on the weekend.
Dark Helmet 06-29-2004, 12:37 PM um, its your liver you need to worry about dude... :D:D
StouffvilleZ3 06-29-2004, 04:48 PM Are you guys going to try the red wine century club?
That would be an interesting thread....
I'll try to pop in but I'm on dial up at home, so the surfing kinda sucks.
I'm getting Cable when I grow up! (If Julie lets me)
Gary-TulZa 06-29-2004, 05:18 PM We'll just type slower Bill, you'll be fine... :D
Dark Helmet 06-29-2004, 05:24 PM Gary NEEDS to type slow when he's drinking... please see last weeks endeavor for incontrovertable proof.... :D
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 12:09 AM Type slow and full of typos... especially Gary... :D
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 12:15 AM .
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 12:17 AM My spelling ain't that bad... ;)
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 12:21 AM sorry, wrong thread.... damn..... getting dizzy...
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 12:22 AM I'm a bad influence, aren't I? :evil2:
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 12:32 AM no.... this was inevitable. at least this way its not at a strip-club....
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 12:35 AM Strippers, eh? Without Bren?
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 12:47 AM we're too old for that... it was fun while it lasted...
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 12:50 AM Damn, I just talked my wife into the idea.... :D
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 12:54 AM damn.... maybe its a "no money for lap dances" issue... need to get the hospital paid off first...
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 12:56 AM I heard that... this is more of a "Dave's sister went to the best place in town with her new bf and had fun, gee maybe you should go, too" thing...
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 12:58 AM noice....
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 01:00 AM My sis is cool.... :D
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 01:03 AM apparently.... is she hot??? :D
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 01:05 AM By non-brotherly standards, I'd say yes, she does well...
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 01:13 AM again... noiiiiiiiice.
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 01:16 AM I think the wife was waiting til everyone at all the local places that I knew retired or moved on.... :D
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 01:22 AM yeah... I didn't have that history, thankfully.... or not...????
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 01:33 AM I live a good 50 miles/1 hour (on the other side of the river) from where I spent a good solid amount of time as a single guy, and we still run into my ex's once in a while, especially in Philly.... :dunno
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 01:37 AM damn... that's bad.
3 of my ex's were at my wedding.... that was wierd enough, thank you...
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 01:40 AM Oh yeah, I had 2 ex-gf's, and 3 former f***-buddies at mine...
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 01:46 AM yeah, luckily i hadn't slept with any of them....
shit... head is spinning....
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 01:48 AM I gotta hit the sack soon.... Month end, Quarter end, tomorrow....
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 01:52 AM yeah, me too... we have a big open house at the office tomorrow afternoon... and unless Josie is still around... I don't see much point in all of this....
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 01:54 AM she's around...
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 02:01 AM well then I've got a few minutes left...
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 02:04 AM We're discussing... size... :D
BabyM 06-30-2004, 02:12 AM We're discussing... size... :D
more the better!!
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 02:13 AM I had an ex-gf in college measure me once to settle a bet with her room-mate... :laugh
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 02:17 AM nice... bren doesn't have any friends that interested in my "stature"
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 02:20 AM It was funny, she never believed me when I told her I never measured it, she thought all guys did, so we made it a fun night, cuz she had to get things going before whipping out the tape, etc.... :D
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 02:24 AM ah, the old... BJ in front of the whole world... I could dig that...
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 02:26 AM No, no, no, the BJ was private, she shipped out the measuring tape, recorded it for her friends, and then finished what she started.... :D
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 02:27 AM niiiiice... I'm out.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I PASSED OUT, grrrrrrrrr and i missed making comments about Joise. Ah i think i am still drunk.......... thank god tomorrow is a holiday.
Joise you are an extremly attractive women, cant wait to see what we get next week.

Gary-TulZa 06-30-2004, 09:08 AM Man, when I lit my first cigarette this morning I thought I was going to explode...
Who's idea was it to do drunken posting on a school night? :dunno
school night?? shool is over until sept. here.
Gary-TulZa 06-30-2004, 09:31 AM I refer to any week day as a school night... Must be a leftover neurosis from my childhood? :D
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 09:33 AM I was with you, Gary... :D Old school expression for M-F.... damn parents...
Was your breath flammable, Gary?
Gary-TulZa 06-30-2004, 09:41 AM Was your breath flammable, Gary?
Oh yeah Dave, definitely was...
You'd think that a fresh pack of AA batteries & a twofer throw on the spinbrush toothbrush would eliminate any fear there, but NNNNOOOO!!!!! :help
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 09:57 AM Want a little rock-n-roller drinking tip to lessen hangovers?
Gary-TulZa 06-30-2004, 10:08 AM Water, bread, asprins, more bread, more water...
What am I missing?
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 10:13 AM Before you drink, 2 chewable Gaviscon tablets, chew 'em up in your mouth thoroughly until it's thick and creamy, then swallow them. Aids in recovery time, and blocks something that doesn't dehydrate/deplete you as quickly.
And for some reason, only Gaviscon works, nothing else... Olive Oil blocks everything, so it takes forever to get drunk, Tums doesn't do crap... Gaviscon allows you to get loaded, but eliminates the hangover effects, not sure why...
Plus the Aspirin, bread, water... never Tylenol when drinking, though...
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 10:13 AM pain subsiding... but not fast enough...
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 10:15 AM You guys are amateurs... :D
Dark Helmet 06-30-2004, 10:20 AM yes... yes I am...
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 10:25 AM You're young, Jer, but Gary should've learned these tricks years ago.... ;) :D
Gary-TulZa 06-30-2004, 10:55 AM I've always stayed with the tried & true method of loading up on B-12 before & after an unhealthy binge...
But red wine drops me to my knees every time! Too many sulfites I'm thinkin... :(
Coffee doesn't do shite, too much water just brings back the whirlys!
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 11:07 AM Oh yeah, sulfites can be a headache source if you're allergic/intolerant, etc....
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 11:07 AM ... we'll do whiskey next week.... :D
I like the tested and true napping at work with Gatorade
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 11:21 AM Gatorade helps, replacing those electrolytes, etc... :buttrock
Gary-TulZa 06-30-2004, 11:21 AM ... we'll do whiskey next week.... :D
:buttrock
Geo Dickel & Mountain Dew is a favorite!!! :redspot
Vodka, we need a Vodka night :) :alright
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 11:24 AM I was thinking good ol' Jack, myself...
Gary-TulZa 06-30-2004, 12:01 PM When's reefer night? :devillook :D
SilverStreak 06-30-2004, 09:37 PM When you mail me some... :D
Gary-TulZa 07-01-2004, 09:13 AM When will they ever perfect the transporter ala Star Trek?
That could sure save some time... :D
but how could you use the excuse "oh man sorry for being late got stuck in traffic"
Gary-TulZa 07-01-2004, 10:11 AM I could sleep an extra 45 minutes every day...
Good tradeoff IMHO!!! :D
noooooooooo the best part of my day is the drive to work and home. I love it, to bad traffic is at a stand still, but when you get that little opening and can floor it for the 5 secs or so. Ahhhhhhhhhhh so satisfying, i would give that up.
SilverStreak 07-01-2004, 12:41 PM Mail = Federal law, too.... oh well...
