View Full Version : Who has a fender rolling tool?
potomac 06-24-2004, 02:58 AM OK Guys...BIG FAVOR.
Anyone with a fender rolling tool...post here. I need to borrow it or possibly have you roll my fenders.
Of course I could financially compensate you for your time. Or you could not be an ass and do it for free :D
Thanks.

fender rollers are like $500+ I don't someone is an "ass" for trying to recuperate some of their money they spend on it........
potomac 06-24-2004, 03:27 AM Yes, but as I searched thorugh old threads, about half of them were doing it for free and the other half was charging...you make the call. And they are mos def. not 500 dollars.
And I was joking about the "ass" part :D
magnetic1 06-24-2004, 08:58 AM Considering a shop charges $75-100 PER fender, a small amount to re-coup the cost of the tool is not unreasonable.
I do it free for my customers who buy wheels/tires... otherwise I charge a measly $50.
Or you can buy the tool from me for $350.
Up to you.
Preppy 06-24-2004, 10:32 AM Eric, do they really charge on avg $75-100? DAGGER!

Is that a measly $50 per corner or all around? I'm still waiting on that quote for ssr comps and tires. Thanks :eyecrazy:
vjlax18 06-24-2004, 11:43 AM Ummmm, yeeeeahhhh, I'm gonna have to tell you to use a baseball bat, yeaaahhhh.
potomac 06-24-2004, 11:53 AM Hey man, if you know how to do it with a bat...come to Chris' Installfest...yeaaaaah, I'm gonna have to ask you go ahead and come to that, yeaaaah.
vjlax18 06-24-2004, 12:01 PM I may try to stop by depending on how late I get out of the Autox... which may be later then I want, plus an hour drive home towing a trailer.
potomac 06-24-2004, 12:10 PM Aight...try to make it. Good luck at the track :redspot
robmarch 06-24-2004, 12:10 PM I like this guy already :)

its not very hard, bring a bat and a heat gun and i'll do it....
potomac 06-24-2004, 12:15 PM aright, deal bro.
you guys rock! :buttrock
What kind of bat? Just a regular size wooden one?
Oh yea, I have a flat and I haven't bought a new tire because I have some new wheels coming. The spare's tire is also ripped up. Can anyone either give me one of their old worn track tires or do you think I could get by for about 25-30 with fix-a-flat, even though it's not suggested for yr rated tires. I won't be taking it that fast with fix-a-flat anyways.
GreekM3 06-24-2004, 12:30 PM wooden bat. BTW, you do know when rolling fenders there is a chance that fender paint can be cracked....
potomac 06-24-2004, 12:34 PM Yeah, but hopefully the heat gun will take car of that?
I was under the impression that if the tool was used, it would avoid the paint on the fender from cracking?
GreekM3 06-24-2004, 12:40 PM Yeah, but hopefully the heat gun will take car of that?

the heat gun should take care of that.....even if the tool is used theres a chance it can crack the paint. We shouldnt have a problem but i was just making sure u knew that there is a chance, even though its a small one.
potomac 06-24-2004, 12:44 PM OK, worst case we'll just trade cars if the paint getrs cracked.
GreekM3 06-24-2004, 12:48 PM dont worry my front fender is f*cked, u dont want to switch cars;)
potomac 06-24-2004, 12:49 PM hehe, ok.
If we heat it to hell, hopefully it won't crack. Hell, we should just light the fender on fire.
magnetic1 06-24-2004, 12:59 PM $50 for both sides.
Either method has paint cracking risks... but if the paint cracks, it is really no big deal because it is on the underside and you cant see it.
Seems like you have this under control.. Im going to ship the tool out to someone renting from out of state.
SSR Comp quote im still waiting for... I usually charge about $10 off TR price if youre getting tires through me.
potomac 06-24-2004, 02:28 PM Do you think we could possibly use it on sunday?
