Sadly, that is not the ACS style CF lip spoiler, it is the OEM lip spoiler in carbon fiber. The ACS version protrudes out more.

Sadly the quality of that part is nearly not as good as something made here locally. Those Cf lips and splitters offered by that seller on ebay are imported from oversea's, thats why he is able to offer such low pricing on that part.

I guess, i am thinking to myself. i was going to take an OEM spoiler and CF it myself, then I saw these. It will save me the mess and for $200 not bad. I can always re-coat with better resin with UV protection if needed.

Sure can you can always clear coat it to protect the finish from turning yellow---But how do you fix a messed up weave pattern? ;)

Madsen, hey man. I havent even contacted this seller about a group buy yet because it was shot down as the parts are imported. I guess they dont know how to CF?????????? Anyway I am still interested, after all it is only carbon fiber it is not very expensive. It saves me the trouble of doing it myself and that is worth $200 to me i guess

Haha, I actually just won this auction. I used the BIN because I wanted the aluminum struts. I also paid for insurance so it came to about $310 shipped. Not sure how much lower you can get it since the other auctioners sell it for about $300 or so. I saw one the ENDED at $310. It may not be "high" quality but then again, it's in the FRONT of the car where LOTS of scraping occurs. Besides, for me, it looks WAY better than my stock lip and velocity v2 splitters. :(

I'm sure he MIGHT be able to knock off like $20 or so if you had enough buyers. I mean, it would save him on the auction fees.

I'll post some pictures when I receive them and install them. I plan to color match the struts as well. I'll also post my feedback about them. This will be the third "major" CF item I've owned (ds hood, spoiler, and this) so I can offer a decent comparison.

the ones here are knock-offs of the RD Sport splitters. The RD sport ones are not in CF, rather ABS plastic that can simply be painted to match your car. Search on CMT to see his car with the RD Sport splitters.

"Simply"? I like the fact that you can get them in CF and not worry about dealing with paint. :dunno

But then again, my car is black so CF tends to blend in well. Not sure about other colors though.

This is my point of view maybe i could be wrong. CF work is all labor intensive, doesnt really require a lot of major technique. So why would these parts be so inferior to our US made parts? Is it becasue they don't have people over there to do quality labor? That I highly doubt. Yes, Please post pics when you are done. Also I thought i saw a buy it now price for $300.

Yep, simply... A piece like that will cost 50 to 75 bucks to have painted at a good shop. Sounds simple enough to me. Not everyone likes the bling factor of exposed CF. Sure, on black it does blend better, but on other colors, not so...

Yes, very true. But if it's not in CF, it's gotta be at least $50 cheaper to offset the extra cost of painting it (not to mention the time to drive there, cost, etc.). That's the reason why I like CF so much (or buying used parts that are already painted ;) ).

I guess I'm glad my car is black. :buttrock

What's going on with this? And what's wrong with the CF weave? Also, are you guys ASSUMING there'll be problems/discoloration with these or is this a known fact?

Thanks,

Boris

Not sure either. I ordered mine a while ago. It takes a week to make and then it's shipping from Taiwan, I believe. I'll post a reply when I get it installed. :)

See sig. This is one OLD thread. ;)

The quality is alright. The underside is actually non-CF. And you'll have to drill the holes into the side splitters yourself. All in all though, I'd pay another $300 for this splitter. For me though, it matches my car more. Not sure about your car. I believe this lip costs like $250 shipped now. Search eBay. :D

Anyway, just search for "BMW carbon" and you'll find some stuff. ;)

EDIT: I just searched and found NOTHING. :( Maybe it's under a different name now? BMW lip? :dunno

i already contacted that guy a few weeks ago for a group buy..
i asked the administrators and they said that they didnt want an ebay seller (and especially one from taiwan) to host a group buy for the forum. i dont remember exact prices but for 15 ppl i dropped him on the price quite a bit
all in all he seemed a good guy... he's also the one that did the group buy for the ccfl angel eyes on dtm, dunno about the others but i got mine in 2 days (they shipped from cali)

I have the 2 splitters that bolt onto each side of the lip in CF. I got this CF front lip spoiler from him on Ebay and while I was waiting to find the right size drill bits to drill through the splitters, I was run off the highway by a semi and ended up carless for a month. Needless to say, the lip is gone. So I still have the splitters brand new, no holes drilled. I did mark the places for the holes to be drilled with a sharpie marker, but never drilled any. $80 shipped. PM me.

Old thread. You should start a FS thread for those. Not sure how many people would be interested though. I have this splitter and canards but don't need new canards as of yet *fingers crossed*. :D

Clumpymold,

Sorry for digging htis old thread up but I was just wondering if you can give us a "long term review" of this lip/splitter. After having it for almost a year, how is it holding up? Any discolorations, warping, or defects? I'm just asking cause I'm interested in getting one. Price is now just $219 including the brackets. Please let me know, hope you're still in this board.

Haha, no worries. I love my splitter. No discoloration but I've scraped the bottom several times because my car's so low. The lip actually holds up better than my front bumper. I got it repainted and the front lip is now peeling the paint away on the bumper. But the lip and side splitters are fine though.

As far as the quality, it was worth even what I paid for it (~$300 shipped). I'd do it again but $300 could mean a lot more to some than to me. :dunno

Some of the drawbacks:

- The side splitters are not predrilled (which is good for customizing the extension but bad for those not mechanically inclined or want to drill).
- The bottom of the lip and splitters are just black and it's not fully CF. It's actually bad black plastic or something. But you can't see it anyway.

Other than that, I'd recommend them. Didn't even use those AC-style struts and have taken it 150+ numerous times. Still lookin' good. ;)
