We had to bring our M3 convertible in today for a service, and they gave us an X3 3.0l for a loaner.

I drove it around a little bit and just have some observations and questions.. first, it was more powerful than i thought it was gonna be. i mean, its not very fast, but its got some good kick to it. i haven't got a chance to drive it fast on any turns and such.

also, it has a huge sunroof. and when you start gettin up to speed, this little thing comes up that has a screen on it to stop bugs and stuff i guess from entering the car. a question I had was about when you close the roof.. for some reason, when i would do the auto-close or just hold the button to close the roof, it would stop every few inches, and i'd have to let go and press it again. i can't imagine that's normal, so something was probably wrong with the loaner's roof motor. does this happen to anyone else?

also, when i was at the dealer i saw a new X5 4.8l. it looked like some kind of le mans blue type color. it was someone's car that was in for service. i also sat in a 330 zhp convertible and sedan, and they were both nice. i love the steering wheel.

anyway, just thought i'd share.

the moonroof on our X5 3.0i definiately does not do that. yeah it's probably a dead motor.

Same here, the moonroof on ours doesn't do that either. Did you get to sit in the 4.8?
