My drivers seat and steering wheel on my 98 528i quit working after my son played with them(I was playing blues and drinking beer) He musta got real bored. I also know that blues players are not supposed to drive Bimmers. :redspot

Thanks, yeah, I checked the fuses and I also let the car sit for hours thinking that it might help reset the softwear. The curious thing is that the passenger seat works fine. I would have thought that both seats would have operated off the same fuses

Try pushing the button and manuall pushing the seat in the deisried direction at the same time to "help it out". I think that the mechanisms under the seat get jammed from time to time.

Well I tried pushing in the same direction..........then in any direction, all I managed to do is think of a new song to write" I Got Dem' Short Leg Bimmer Blues and I don't Know What to Do" The seat motor isn't making any noise when I try to move the seat in any direction, Anybody got any thoughts?? my nearest foreign car mechanic is about 75 miles away...Tom

Did you try taking the fuses out and then reseating them to make sure they're making good contact?
maybe your kid actually got under the seat and disconnected the power connection?

Thanks Guys, I tried the previous two replys and still no go. I used to own a 91 535i and I still have an old manual for that car. Guess I'll go to the garage and move all my wifes junk so I can get to where I suspect that manual is. Other than that next time I'm in Dallas I'll go to the Stealership and see what they have to say.
