KaOTiKM3 06-22-2004, 02:47 PM nothing for the E36 2drs?
CastleMotorsports 06-22-2004, 02:58 PM nothing for the E36 2drs?
At the moment we don't have them for the e36, however, just like the ones for the e46, if we get enough requests, we can make them. The problem is that the mold is very expensive so we need to make sure enough people are interested. I'll keep everyone posted.
iredlinemy///m3 06-30-2004, 04:24 AM I would love a set for the E36!

incubus 06-30-2004, 10:05 PM If the price is similar for the E36, that's relatively inexpensive compaired to similar offerings.

BRUNO 07-02-2004, 12:11 PM e36 sedan 97 please come on. I'm a cf freak
Justin(OKC) 07-02-2004, 02:58 PM E36 sedan and 2-door are the same. There is just the 95-96 grill and the 97+ grill. I would also like a E36 M3 rear diffuser in CF and also the ///M3 emblem. Ideally I would like to convert all my chrome to CF with a front CF splitter and CF rear diffuser.....that to me would be sweet!!
Mistermotorist 07-02-2004, 03:07 PM I'm down ('97)
Aguapolo17 07-02-2004, 06:08 PM I'd like the 97+ grills, but I want full cf grills, not covers that tape onto the top of the existing ones. Wouldn't the covers make the grills stick out too far?
JSillyM3 07-02-2004, 07:50 PM so I wonder if this is enough interest for the e36??
gotdinan? 07-02-2004, 11:24 PM please....make the e36 mold as soon as you can!!!........ :D
clumpymold 07-03-2004, 04:26 AM please....make the e36 mold as soon as you can!!!........ :D

Any idea on the cost? I'm sure you'll be able to get 10-20 buyers, no problem, if the price is right. :)

Oh, and any plans on making engine covers and radiator covers? I'm sure others would be interested in a whole package deal if the price is good. I'd also be interested in a CF intake as well. ;)

Aguapolo17 07-04-2004, 04:09 PM Can this company answer my question: Are these covers that you tape onto your existing grills? If so, won't they stick out a lot? How about you just make grills made entirely of carbon fiber, and then just charge a little more? I know one guy makes these, but he charges $225. I'm thinking of buying them, but obviously if I can get them cheaper, I would. I think most people would rather have full carbon fiber grills, not just covers that go on top of your existing grills, but maybe its just me. Can you clear this up for me?
Ryan328i 07-04-2004, 04:48 PM I'm pretty sure the ones being made here are full CF replacements.

Yeah, I agree. I prefer the ENTIRE grill to be made in CF vs. just having covers. I'd even be willing to provide new grills for you to wrap. They're only ~$50-55 for the set at the dealership.
Aguapolo17 07-04-2004, 04:53 PM if you read the first page, it says they have
Aguapolo17 07-04-2004, 04:56 PM sorry, it says they have 3M backings. Why would they have those if they were direct replacements
clumpymold 07-04-2004, 05:03 PM sorry, it says they have 3M backings. Why would they have those if they were direct replacements
The ones being produced for the E46 were covers. Not sure about the ones being made for the E36. I'd prefer full CF ones though.
Or maybe produce BOTH of them and see the demand?
Aguapolo17 07-04-2004, 05:05 PM i say full replacement or i don't want it
NickRD 07-04-2004, 08:52 PM Richie, can you guys make stuff in silver cf? :) thanks..
gotdinan? 07-05-2004, 01:08 AM full instead of 3m would be soooo much better...also silver carbonfiber does sound good...
BRUNO 07-05-2004, 02:53 PM So whats the news
Hawaii 07-05-2004, 04:46 PM hell yea im in for e36 97+ style

These grills are the ones that come with 3M adhesive. They do not stick out because they wrap around the grill. We could make an entire grill and charge more, however, the mold for each CF part can cost $3000 or more. Here is where the problem comes....most people would rather purchase a cover because it will look the same and will be half the price. Another thing is that by having a cover, you are actually using the existing grill as a backing so it will be stronger than if the whole thing was CF.
We will probably sell these in the $100 to $129 range depending on the mold. We would need to sell about 44 sets just to cover the cost of the mold. After that is when we start to see a profit. We here can actually cover just about anything in CF. Most of these parts are single peices and are Hand Made. It really is an expensive process. As far as engine covers are concerned, it really depends on demand. I would love to make everything requested in CF, but like I said the process to do it correctly is quite expensive. We would definate need confirmed orders to make a mold that will cost $3000. I have taken chances before like I will on the grills for the e36 because it seems like many are interested. We prefer to offer grill covers at $129 than to offer entire grills for $250. Modding is an expensive hobby and sport. If we can offer a great quality product at a reasonable price than everyone is happy.
Here is an example of what we did with AWEZM's M3 Vert---

CastleMotorsports 07-05-2004, 08:08 PM Richie, can you guys make stuff in silver cf? :) thanks..
We can do just about anything. We work with silver, black, red, green, and of course my favorite to match my Topaz Blue 325, blue carbon fiber.

Sounds like a deal to me. I'd be down for the full CF grill for $250. Any idea on the total cost of all three parts, assuming you'd also do CF engine covers, radiator cover, etc.?
Those CF parts on that BMW is kick a$$!!! :buttrock Amazing! Any close-up pictures of the weave?

///3oris 07-10-2004, 11:05 AM Very interested for E36... there are two types of kidneys, I'm interested in the ones that come on '97+ cars.
Would love to see what these guys look like on a car.
Final question: since there are so many variations with CF... what type of CF do you use? I want to make sure if I get more CF parts in the future that they all match. For example, I know it's hard to match the LTW parts, etc.
Thanks,
Boris
Greenbeemer 07-11-2004, 04:13 PM I'm in too... I want these CF kidneys so badly !!! For my E36 +97 off course ;)

nasty50 07-18-2004, 03:48 AM anybody know if his will match the vis cf hood(color wise)?
tom3er 07-19-2004, 06:17 AM if the cf hood and the cf grills are both real cf it most definitely will.

Justin(OKC) 02-14-2005, 06:06 PM This thread just fizzled back in August. I have actually been looking for CF kidneys for my M3/4 for about 3 years now, maybe longer. I will really be surprised if they are ever made :rolleyes

Well, I HAVE seen them. Some members on here make them. It's just a tad expensive for what you're getting. Don't recall the cost but something over $200, I believe. :(
