This was WITH a full cage and harnesses. Driver still broke his legs and neck. This occurred at a DE.

So, although everyone says take it to the track ... you have to realize the risks you assume. No one should belittle a person just because they do not feel like they want to goto the track.

The best way to cover yourself is an umbrella policy for medical/liability concerns.

Also, State Farm, Amica, USAA, and I think Erie seem to be the most receptive to HPDE's. Partly because they use that general exclusion clause. Although, if you have any of these guys, you BETTER be DAMN sure you have all your T's crossed and I's dotted. You are late on a payment, etc ... I am sure they will deny you.

EVIL insurance companies like Allstate have changed their wording. Geico is evil because they fund RADAR development ... and rumored was that they dropped people if they answered a survey that they used radar detectors.

Also, MANY of you should look closely into GAP insurance.

I have been considering that american collectors insurance for HPDE's especially because I no longer have an instructor in the car with me and I heard regular insurance companies have that as one of the deciding factors to see if you get coverage. I guess they think that since you no longer have an instructor that it is not driver education any more :confused:

Also, couldn't your regular insurance (either car or health) cover you for medical and use american collectors for car damage? The price of the premium for a year is very little but then again you have to pay a 20% deductable.....hmmmmm.....decisions, decisions.

Honestly, to me and it's MY opinion only, JDM is cool because it's something unique and something you don't see here. I think of JDM as OEM Japan only parts, maybe I'm wrong. Might not work at all but it's a shot in the right direction.

Dodge made the SRT cheap and the upgrades are amazingly cheap.

Yeah, those radiator necks are a weakspot. You can't get just the next piece though. You might be thinking of the thermostat housing that you can replace with an aluminum piece.

I was like who the hell are these guys, then they blew up and used our truck to pull it off the track..

They actually duct tapped it back together and drove home 50 miles..lol

He still has that car..that was like 99 I think, when I met the crew..

You can enter your own Team, but it will cost millions.
I also do car commercials, heres the IS300 one we did, I was driving the Intrax Audi A4, in the back..

Lol. I'm a dumbass. I should have left it at the track but we opted for the duct tape and the run home. Ended up cracking the head from the drive home and then I sold it. I miss that monster. Put a total of 127K on it.

I've seen guys post their times when they run at LACR and they look slow (versus what most people get and what the mags say)-I guess because of the elevation.

Yup. Green completely lost it offensively. Getting picked by the Orioles kind of sums it up. Last time he was semi-decent was the first half of last season. Beltre has made a good turn around from the second half of the season on. LoDuca is a solid player. And Gagne. Well, he is the man!

They are both great sports.

One just cost alot more than the other..

One can be done on any parking lot with some cones

One takes a racetrack.

I think that the next step after Auto X is club racing.

you are right conechaser, I never really thought about it that way. I did have alot of fun and learned alot back in the auto x days.

Yeah,

autox lends some basic skills that can help to build confidence to track. It's not as glamourous as club racing, but it is really helpful and useful.

My friend once said "A true driver, one that is always seeking to learn and hone his craft doesn't discredit any discipline."

Honestly, I really dissed drifting before, but damn man, that takes a LOT of freaking skill. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but you cannot say it takes zero skill. Those Japanese drifters are skilled as hell. It's good to keep an open mind and then decide. That's why I want to go see one. I just am not into that stuff on the streets.

I do autox because hell, it's a quick and easy fix. I get a lot out of it and it is fun. If I can't do a DE or a track day, why the hell not? What else would I be doing. It's another way to enjoy my car.

As as some know, some roadracers have started with autox like Will Turner and Randy Pobst. Sunir started in autox and really got me into the whole motorsports scene a couple years ago. Gave me the push to get into autox and really encouraged me to get into DEs. :buttrock

Our Firend Rhyce Millen is drifting for Pontiac in the new GTO.

He is not doing that great because there is no rules, no passing laws, nothing.

He's having a little trouble getting used to the fact that it's total anarchy.

The Jap Pros wont race the Ammericans in D1, They just do exibition.

It's the truth, I toured with the D1 on the west coast, the Pontiac team is using our semi. I have an opinion, but I am not a ( insult here ) you in fact you make yourself out to be one.

The Japanese don't actually compete.

Some Japanese do, but the big time ones don't.
We feel it's because they don't want to run the risk of being beat and losing credability back home. Also the D1 is trying to find US drivers to compete eventually with the Jap pro, the problem is the Jap pros kind of have the final word on who wins, so it's kind of like a crowd favorite edge over skill
Ryce is not a crowd favorite, he does not really go meet the fans and stuff, but he kics ass at drifting and scares the Jap pros.
The thing is that with the 350hp GTO trying to over take in a drift, he has to break early, where a lower HP car can break later and get into the drift early, it's causing some problems. The sooner you break, the less the drift.

Ryce did some exhibition last year with the Jap pros in Cali.

He used his Evo AWD and smoked the Japs.

Now AWD is not even allowed because of complaints from The Jap Pros.

Tank is funking up big time, he qualified fourth, then someone bumped him in staging, he got out and hit the driver, it was 16 year old Brazilian Monto Danoyola, Now we have an INTL war going on.
They moved to last spot in pole as a violation.
