who all is definately going! The big question is will Team BAR (a.k.a the notorious Jeddy n' da boyzzz), offical gang of this forum, gonna grace us with their attendence? Only time can answer such qustions :D ;) ....

they do have an autox course there for all of you coneheads out there...not certain if it'll be open for use though...

and for all the blingers, ballas, and stuntaz among us, there will of course be a show and vendor booths on Saturday...I think there will be a large turnout this year, and the Motiv guys are trying to have something there for everyone to enjoy....

Where is Bimmerfest East?

It's really close to Pittsburgh. BeaveRun.

I will not be attending. :( However, for those of you going, I would suggest looking into taking I70->I68->I79. The Penn. turnpike it HORRIBLE!! 68 and 79 are VERY hilly, but I think it is a better drive. :dunno

The Penn. turnpike it HORRIBLE!!

there's some construction but it is the most direct way...Beaverun is literally right off the turnpike!

George...you coming to the track day?

Yes, I used to take that way when I would drive back to college in Ohio. When we were leaving the hotel to go to BeaveRun, I saw that I79 was close by. It is a little longer but it isn't as dangerous/harsh as the turnpike.

Yeah, I know it is off of the I70 but I79 takes you right there too. It's not a direct rt. to BeaveRun but it is another option for those looking for a smoother ride.

I think it will make the drive about 15-20 min. longer. I can't remember exactly how much. Should be right around there.

i've taken it before awhile ago. The speed limit in west VA is either 65 or 70 so you drive faster but its more milage. I think it would take about 30 minutes more, but I will most likely take it next time because the turnpike roads are sooooo bad.

sunir-im not 100% sure yet, i will email tom soon and get the price.

The turnpike is in pretty bad shape... but I'd still go that way. I used to drive it a lot to go visit Marisa. I did the I68 -> I79 thing once - I thought going through Cumberland slowed me down a lot. I68 turns into almost a city street through there - narrow, twisty and with a 35MPH speed limit. PITA with traffiq. Plus, I know all the I76 speed traps, and the cops on I79 are notorious.

Best of luck,

JV

Doesn't matter if you have a coilover race suspension to take the inside of the shoulder.

Driving up there at night was a little scary with the way the road tramlined and yanks your car around. With big-ass tractor trailors, it turns into a white knuckle experience. Again, see the above statement as to why my car did that. Next time I take that route, I will wear my new Sparco gloves to hold the line better. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... I drive a racecar.

John-whens the last time you were on the turnpike? It seems like its gotten MUCH worse in the past 6-9 months....

You could be right. It has been almost 5 years since I drove it (man, I miss college. :( ) but I can say from my experience (I can honestly say I have driven to and fro Ohio a total of 50 times (25 trips in 4 years)) I NEVER had a problem.

Oh well. I just thought I would give those people going another option to investigate. :dunno

Have fun guys. I wish I could go. :(

Nah dude-going to Ocean City with my friends! It's summertime, gotta do other things while the weather's nice!

Have fun up there! By the way, don't attempt the "sticker group buy" with the cute blonde in the BR store. George tried it and now she is a lesbian.

FU man!

I have those bad boys dry cleaned before I go to work so that they are presentable to any ladies that might spy them. I might even have them re-dyed in a few months to made the red bright again and have the suede re-conditioned. Gotta keep them in mint condition shape.

You'd probably do something ghey like use them for driving. That's what messes them up.

You have red gloves to match a red car?
Next time get a contrasting color. It makes it easier for drivers and corner workers to see your point bys. Oh wait. You are a racer. You don't give point bys. ;)

My gloves are yellow against my blue car. I give lots of point bys.

So??? They look pretty with my red Nomex Sparco suit!

Steve-

Racing is 95% looking the part and looking sporty at it.
The other 5% is luck.

All I am saying is that a contrasting color is easier for other drivers and corner workers to see when you are giving a point by. When you have the same color gloves as the body of the car it makes it difficult to see your hands. A contrasting color is just easier to see.

But if you want to make a fashion statement, that's OK. ;)

OG Racing must have your CC on file.
You also need red racing shoes and lots of endorsements on the suit.

Forgot to mention.
You also need a rig with some pit bunnies.

*DING!*

:D

Actually, I never thought about that. I just figured as long as your hands are visible on a point by it would be fine. Yellow probably would've been a better choice. Good tip Steve.
