How soon can I wax the paint on it? bellavus 06-21-2004, 11:10 AM Wait 30 days until the paint cures and harden. Preppy 06-21-2004, 01:38 PM Ok thanks....this sucks....BimmerfestEast is less than 2 weeks away :( bellavus 06-21-2004, 01:41 PM I asked the almost identical question a week ago about polishing after painting, and it is 30 days. David 06-21-2004, 08:47 PM It depends on the bodyshop. I would call and ask them. The general rule seems to be 30 days, but some shops may tell you more, while others may tell you less. David. Robstah 06-21-2004, 08:58 PM whats a good price for a paint job? i am pretty much limited to 800 dollars, and dont really want to go macco. i have my back bumper clearcoat peeling, parts of the hood clearcoat peeling, scratch on the roof, few scratches and dints around the car, nose panel needs complete repaint, need colormatch for side skirts and back bumper trim, new bumper coming in, and need to get the eyelids painted. what should i do? bellavus 06-21-2004, 09:16 PM expect to spend around 2-3K for a good paint job. Any less and they will skimp on the prep work, which is the most important. Robstah 06-21-2004, 09:38 PM what if i prep'ed it myself? should that help on pricing? bellavus 06-21-2004, 10:33 PM should defintely help on pricing, but you have to really know what you are doing on the prep work. Anyone can learn to use a paint sprayer, but prep work is a skill that you acquire. Preppy 06-22-2004, 10:42 AM we painted it ourselves, it's definitely not professional quality, but it's good enough to get the job done :) |
