I find as you get older though, 4 years isn't the gap it used to be at a younger age. At a younger age-each going into completely new stages in life-she's probably going into college while he is on his way out to the real world. If he goes to grad school, it's still somewhat different. I find now that a 4 year difference is nowhere as severe once both have been in the real world. That's just a general point of view. I would say see how she is and if there is compatibility, but be prepared for any downsides.
