Hey guys, I applied some touch-up paint on one of our cars (cosmos black in case it makes a difference) and i did a pretty shitty job, and I guess I put a tad too much on, cuz it kinda streaked down. It's not noticeable unless you look for it, but when you see it, it looks ugly, can a touch-up paint job be undone? I'm guessing i need to sand it down with like 2000 grit wet/dry sand paper?

I'm worried about making it look even worse, so what should I do?

Try some laquer thinner, go over it lightly in even swipes! If that doesnt do it you may have to wet sand it, but i would not recomend you doing it yourself, find a good detailer or auto touch up place to do it.

Just get some langka. It is made to soften touch up paint (not factory) so that a touched up bump can be flattenned out without having to resort to wetsanding. It's a hassle free way for inexperienced detailers to fix chips. In your case, use the langka to remove all the touch up paint you applied.

I would advise against lacquer thinner as it may have an adverse impact on the factory paint as well.

yeah, it should be available locally. if you can't find it, shoot langka off an email and ask them who carries it in your area. worst case, you have to order it online.

you can clay it off probably. I did some touch up on my car a couple weeks ago, and clayed it smoothe today, worked well, went too much on a couple spots and took too much paint off. im sure you could get it all off if you wanted. mine is black also.
