Hi all,my very first post. I just bought a 2003 Carbon blk m3 and the previous owner left it out for 4 days and bird crap has baked into the trunk lid. He tells me the only way to get it out is to repaint the whole trunk lid. Iam really hoping I,ll be able to polish it out with a orbital buffer. The stain does seem quite deep. What do you guys think? any suggestions. Thanx

try some dacp. pics would help. unless its through the clear it will improve. polish wont help, you need something abrasive

do you have a pc7424? or some kind of POS orbital? hopefully a cyclo :o

If it's etched deeply, he's right. It's a repaint.

Even if it is etched, with the right polish and pad combo you may be able to diminish it enough so that it isn't as noticable. I would avoid a repaint at ALL costs. Body shops are scum. Keep your factory paint and live with the hopfully minor etching.
